Sias hosts successful Homecoming
home-coming-day.jpgGraduates and students of Sias International University along with their parents took part in Homecoming activities on May 26. This seventh-annual event was a chance for graduates to return and reconnect with old classmates. It was a time for parents to see the growth that has happened on the campus and in their children. Homecoming kicked off with a special performance in the Opera Building. The performance was a mix of Eastern and Western cultures, featuring opera selections by Sias students and Western Connecticut State students. In addition, top teachers were recognized by Sias founder Dr. Shawn Chen. Throughout the day various departments had programs which highlighted their sections. womens-symposium.jpg A new addition to Homecoming was the Symposium for Women. Sias board member Jerrie Ueberle and instructor Carol Blanchard organized the one-day event to inform and encourage women: students and mothers. Special speakers included Sherry Liu and Lian Zi, whose works are well-known throughout China.
