This October holiday Sias International University staff members and instructors traveled in and outside China. A contingent traveled to Seoul, South Korea, as part of an exchange program with Han Sei University, while another group headed west to Xi’an to see the Terracotta Warriors. In addition, some went to Shanghai to take in the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The trip to South Korea was filled with new sights and sounds. It was a chance for teachers to see another university and exchange ideas. Han Sei and Sias are partnering to bring Korean students to China. The largest group of instructors ventured to Xi’an to take in the ancient city and historical sites. They visited the burial place of the Terracotta Warriors, explored the Muslim Market and enjoyed a dumpling banquet. A small party represented the United States at the Women’s World Cup at Hongkou Stadium. The trio were part of 34,000 crammed into the stadium to watch Team U.S.A. defeat Norway, 4-1, for third place, and then see Germany upend Brazil, 2-0, for the championship.
