Designing the Future Career, Being a World Citizen

On the Nov.6, 2012, Sias held the 2012-2013 Studying Abroad Mobilization Conference in the Opera House. Dr. Shawn Chen, the Chairman of the board, directors from Student Affairs Office, International Cooperation & Exchange Department, School of International Education and School of Chinese Language and Culture, and many students who are interested in studying abroad attended the conference.

Dr. Shawn Chen first stressed the school operation philosophy of “Nurturing international talents”, and the importance of the studying abroad experience for personal development by the example of his own experience. Then he gave students a detailed introduction of studying abroad from the aspects of the reason, the situation, advantages of Sias students, the preparation, and the application. He also advised students to choose the countries who have advantages in the education and economic field.

Ms Wang Huan, Ms Gui Pingping and Mr. William Lu, who have studied abroad in America and now work at Sias respectively, introduced the Fort Hays State University, the University of Akron and Antioch University at Los Angeles from the aspects of the overview, customs, basic necessities, part-time jobs, tuition and scholarship information.

The School of International Education will also hold the Studying Abroad Exhibition in the lobby of NO. 12 Teaching Building on Nov. 7, 2012. There will be many studying abroad agencies available for students to consult and the information of more than 40 universities will be exhibited.
