2013 Annual Homecoming & International Water Conference Ceremony

In the morning of May 25th, the Homecoming parade floats, military band performance, various campus cultures show and design arts all make the campus a wonderful chance to let guests from home and abroad, alumni and parents to know more about Sias.

At 9:00 a.m., the 2013 Homecoming & International Water Conference Ceremony was held in the opera house. Attendees included delegations from Fort Hays State University, Lee University, Columbia Technical College, American Broadway band and Sias Foundation. Guests of the Water conference, school leaders of some universities in Henan, patents, alumni and our school leaders also attended the ceremony. Mr. Dong Qiming hosted the ceremony.

The ceremony began with the Chinese and American national anthems. Then Dr. Shawn Chen introduced the guests and delivered an opening speech. He thanked all the guests who come to Sias to attend the ceremony and hoped all the people can continue supporting the development of Sias. In the following speeches, Dr. Alan Brown, the Chairman of the Sias Foundation and Prof. Robert Frank explained the problems of the global water supplies and called on all the young people to undertake the social responsibilities to improve the quality of the daily-use water and the global environment.

In the awarding ceremony, various kinds of scholarships were awarded to the Sias students. And representing the American Kansas state government, Dr. Edward Hammond donated $500,000 as scholarship to Sias students.
