Sias Uses Music to Set Up a Cross-Strait Bridge of Friendship
Friday, November 28 - On the afternoon of November 23, a team from Sias International University concluded a successful visit to 4 universities and a school in Taiwan.
The visit, led by Liu Shuqin, the Vice President of Sias, was a response to Taiwanese partner schools’ invitations, and included members of the School Office, International Communications Office, Music Department, and the Sias band, totaling 108 people. From the 16th to the 23rd of November the group toured Taichung City, Kaohsiung City and Taipei City, engaging in cultural exchanges, military band performances, and other activities.
The Sias band visited and performed at the National Taichung University of Education, and Providence University in Taichung City, I-Shou University in Kaohsiung City, and the Chinese Culture University in Taipei City. The band also performed at the Lih Jen International Private Elementary and Middle School in Taipei City. The group traveled nearly 800 km across Taiwan in 6 days, from north to south. It was, in the words of one of the band members, “a special experience on a personal level.” Apart from the performances, the students enjoyed Taiwan’s various bustling night markets and street food.
The visit is expected to strengthen the exchanges between Sias and Taiwanese universities, and also expand Sias’ impact internationally.
