Shawn Chen speaks at China Innovation Hub Opening Ceremony
Thursday, May 26 – Dr. Shawn Chen, the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Sias, was invited to speak at the Opening Ceremony of the China Innovation Hub in Zhengzhou. The Center was jointly set up by Henan province’s New Energy Chamber of Commerce, and Bournemouth University from the United Kingdom.
There were several dignitaries at the event, including Prof. Liu Dongxiao, Chairman of Henan’s New Energy Chamber of Commerce; Su Fugong, Former Director of Henan Provincial Tourism Bureau, and member of Henan’s Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC); Feng Yongchen, Former Director of Henan Province Foreign Affairs Office, and Professor at Sias’ School of Foreign Languages; Peter Williams, Director of the British Center; Ben Chen, Sales & Marketing Director of GEA; Vice Chancellor of Bournemouth University, Prof. John Vinney; Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement) of Bournemouth University, Dr. Sonal Minocha; and Prof. Chen Jin, Department of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Strategy, Tsinghua University.
Dr. Chen congratulated those who set up the China Innovation Center, and spoke of Sias’ work in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship. He said that Sias would serve as a bridge of cooperation between local governments in China and international organizations and institutions.
The China Innovation Center is a joint venture between Henan province’s New Energy Chamber of Commerce, and Bournemouth University. The goal is to promote in-depth cooperation between China and the United Kingdom in the field of innovation.
