Nanhua University delegation visit Sias

Tuesday, October 25 – Nanhua University from Dalin, Taiwan, sent a delegation to visit Sias on the 24th of October. The visit has further consolidated cross-strait ties between Sias International University and universities in Taiwan. The delegation had earlier attended the Henan Province Private Education Development and Reform Forum on the 22nd of October.

 

The delegation included Vice President of Nanhua University, Wu Wanyi; Deputy Director of International Department, Qiu Zhaoxian; and the Director of the Folk Music Department, Feng Zhihao.

 

On a rainy Monday, the delegation, along with the Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department (ICED), William Lu, toured the Sias campus and visited teaching facilities as well. At the following meeting, the guests said that they were impressed by Sias' unique environment and concept. They spoke of the possibility of academic exchanges, students exchanges, and joint projects in the future. They said that this would help cross-strait ties and would promote the exchange of ideas and cooperation between the two universities. William Lu spoke of Sias' goals, development, and functioning, shedding light on the emphasis on innovation, and the resultant difficulties faced.

 

Nanhua University is located in the Dalin Township of Chiayi County, in Taiwan. Founded in 1996 by the Buddhist monk Hsing Yun as the Nanhua College of Management, it became a full-fledged university in 1999. Over 90% of the faculty are doctorates, which ranks the university among the top private universities in Taiwan. There are 21 undergraduate departments, 24 master's degree programs, and a doctoral program.
