Student Teacher Dialogue 2016/17
Friday, November 11 – To further strengthen the communication and exchanges of ideas between teachers and students, Sias International University held an open Student-Teacher Dialogue meeting on the 10th of November. The Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen; Sias Party Secretary, Fei Hexiang; Sias President, Dr. Chen Sikun; Vice President Liu Shuqin; and Assistant Principal, Sun Rujian; were in attendance. The heads of all schools and departments within Sias were also present, along with the teachers and students who took part in this forum.
Dr. Shawn Chen delivered a speech at the beginning and insisted that the dialogue between teachers and students should continue to be transparent as it was a part of the culture and tradition of Sias. He hoped that through this dialogue, teachers would understand the needs and difficulties of the students so that the level of education and development could be improved and managed in a systematic and efficient manner.
The issues raised by students, and answered by school officials, and the various heads of departments included the use of venues, dormitory facilities, campus safety, network blackouts, the library and study space availability, teachers, electives, and questions about the curriculum. Students also answered questions and gave suggestions and recommendations to the university leadership. The official Sias 'New Media' channels were also used as a platform for questions.
Dr. Shawn Chen added that this sincere and honest exchange would lead to growth for everyone at Sias, and he encouraged more students and teachers to participate, contribute, and cooperate for the good of the university.
