University of Arizona Vice-Provost visits Sias
Tuesday, August 29 – A two-member delegation from the University of Arizona visited Sias on the 28th of August. The delegation included the Vice Provost for International Education at the University of Arizona, Dr. Brent White.
Dr. White, along with the Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, toured the campus, including the European Street, CUBA Training Facility, Golf driving range, Chinese garden, and the Sias library where Dr. Chen spoke about the newly constructed library, with its state-of-the-art facilities and innovative design. The delegation also visited the Sias' School of Music, as well as the School of Opera.
At the subsequent meeting in the Administration Building, Dr. Shawn Chen formally introduced Dr. White, and gave a detailed introduction to Sias' history, development goals, and educational philosophy. Also present at the meeting were Sias President, Dr. Chen Sikun, and leaders and representatives of the Department of Global Engagement, the School of Music, and the School of International Cultural Exchange. Dr. White said that he was impressed by Sias' growth and its campus. He said that he hoped that his visit would lay a solid foundation for future cooperation between the two universities. The two sides spoke about the possibilities of dual degree programs, and discussed the means by which cooperation could be deepened and expanded.
