Teachers Day Celebrations
Tuesday, September 11 - On the 10th of September, Sias International University held a grand celebration and recognition ceremony on the occasion of Teacher's Day. The Chairman of the Board, Dr. Shawn Chen, Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, Sias President, Chen Sikun, Executive President, Wang Jialin, Deputy Party Secretary, Li Huafeng, and Assistant Principal, Guo Xuede, attended the festivities. The entire teaching staff of Sias was present.
After a special video presentation made by the Sias News Center, Dr. Shawn Chen delivered a speech. He shared about his vision of Sias culture and encouraged the faculty and staff to pursue creativity, use their initiative, and continue to nurture outstanding graduates at Sias.
Sias President, Chen Sikun, said that a university was only as good as its teachers. In the past 20 years, he said, it was the teachers' quiet hard work and devotion to education that had pushed Sias towards growth and development. This had influenced society positively. He said that teachers deserved great credit for what they had done. President Chen also spoke of the role that ethics played in Sias culture. He said that the selflessness, diligence, and integrity of teachers was worth emulating.
There were also speeches by representatives of teachers, new staff, and students.
Executive President, Wang Jialin, read out the list of teachers who won awards in a variety of categories, including departmental awards, awards for innovation, and provincial awards for education.
Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, delivered the closing speech. He encouraged the faculty and staff to unite and work hard. He spoke of the importance of discipline, self-improvement, and being opportunistic.
