Dean of School of Literature at Xinxiang College visits Sias

Thursday, June 6 - A delegation from Xinxiang College that included the Dean of the School of Literature, Yuan Lei, the Party Secretary, Guo Mingjin, and the Deputy Party Secretary, Huang Yuanwei, visited Sias University on the 5th of June. The Dean of Sias' Huanyu Residential College, Yang Jiaqing, accompanied the delegation on a tour of the Sias campus that included the European Street, CUBA Training Facility, Golf Driving Range, Chinese Garden, Huanyu Residential College, and the Sias Library.


At a subsequent meeting, Sias President, Chen Sikun, welcomed the delegation and spoke of the development of Sias and the Residential College System. He said that Sias' Residential College System is based on the ancient Chinese Academies, as well as the Western Residential College System with underlying ideas of the combination of Chinese and Western education. Sias had transformed its dormitories into educational communities where students live together for the goal of personal and professional development. The idea was based on the needs of students with regard to learning, discipline, and development.


Yuan Lei gave a detailed introduction to the development of Xinxiang College and spoke of her desire to increase the exchanges with Sias University in the future.
