Sias Library Prepares for Reopening with Prevention & Control Drills
Wednesday, April 22 - The Sias Library carried out simulation exercises on the 22nd of April to prepare for emergencies when the library opens for the return of students. The exercises were for the prevention and control of the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. All library staff participated in the simulation exercises with guidance from the Supervision & Audit Department.
The simulation exercises included 3 scenes for the opening of the library:
- First, to limit the number of people entering the library through a seat reservation system, monitor the time of readers entering and leaving the library, and to implement a closed-loop management;
- Second, to measure the temperature of people, disinfect material and systems, and check the electronic vouchers of those who reserve seats;
- Third, to implement an emergency treatment plan. In the event of readers with suspicious information, an abnormally high temperature and cough, the library will immediately start the emergency prevention plan. After verifying the information, the library will immediately take readers to a temporary isolation point in the library, disinfect the reader's 'action route', report the situation to the library's prevention & control work group as well as the university's prevention and control work group and Sias Clinic. They will also track the stream of incoming readers.
After the drill and preparatory exercises, the staff of the library summarized the events, organization of work, and emergency response results of the drill, and put forward suggestions to address and improve on the problems faced.
