On May12th, 2012, in order to celebrate the 100th International Nurses’ Day and remember all the precious contributions Florence Nightingale made to the society, School of Nursing held Lamp-Passing and Cap-Granting Ceremony in the Opera House. Li Haijun, president of Sias International University, Kong Furong, 36th Florence Nightingale medalist and Vice Chairman of the Nursing Association of Henan Province, and other guests from the nursing field attended this ceremony.
During the ceremony, a symbolic lamp was handed from one nurse to another, which signified the passing of knowledge. Eight experienced experts from nursing field granted dovetail caps to a group of nursing students, wishing the students can get a good start in the nursing career.
President Li Haijun said that nursing was one of the noblest professions in the human society. He hoped the students could always keep the Nightingale Pledge in mind and selflessly make contributions to the society.
