Sias Holds the 2012 Commencement
On May 27, Sias held the 2012 Commencement. For 2012 Sias graduates, it was an unforgettable day to bid farewell to their Alma Mater and begin their new life journey.
School leaders and guests from both home and abroad attended the Commencement. The guests included Dr. Edward Hammond, president of Fort Hays State University, Ms Cynthia Elliott, vice president of Fort Hays State University, Mr. Timothy Emert, vice chair of the Kansas state board of regents, Mr. Alan Brown, president of Sias Foundation, and Ms Zhang Qianhong, vice president of Zhengzhou University.
The commencement began at 9:30 with thousands of Sias graduates in baccalaureate gowns marching into the stadium. President Li Haijun hosted the event and Dr. Shawn Chen introduced the guests. In his speech, Dr. Shawn Chen encouraged the graduates to make unremitting efforts to improve and fulfill themselves and contribute to the development of society. It was followed by the speeches delivered respectively by Ms. Zhang Qianhong, Dr. Edward Hammond, Dr. Alan Brown, president of Sias Foundation, Mr. Zhang Dexue, teacher representative from the School of Foreign Languages and Ms. Lin Xiaomeng, graduate representative and Master’s Degree Scholarship Winner from the School of International Education.
After the speeches, a variety of prizes were awarded to the graduates by the school leaders of Sias and president of Fort Hays State University.
The last announcement of the graduation filled the stadium with applause and cheers.
After the commencement, the graduates took out their cameras to record the unforgettable moment and expressed heartfelt gratitude to Sias while commemorating their hopes for a new and successful life journey.
