Sias Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, and Vice President, Zheng Min, led the heads of certain departments on an inspection of flood control and disaster prevention work at the university on the 22nd of August.

The leaders visited the cafeterias, library, CUBA Training Facility, Qixian Residential College, the new energy machine room, Administration Building, several construction sites, teaching buildings and facilities, and residential facilities, as part of the on-site inspection for flood control preparations. The inspection involved a detailed focus on the Sias campus sewage system, water supply, power supply system, as well as disaster relief materials and equipment. They met with workers involved in cleaning and patrols as well. During the inspection, the leaders and departmental heads put forward requirements and measures to be taken to eliminate potential safety hazards as much as possible.

The leaders pointed out that according to the meteorological department, heavy rainfall was forecast in the Zhengzhou and Xinzheng area. They said that it was very important that the flood control and disaster prevention work was carried out well to prepare for the extreme weather and rainfall.

The leaders also focused on culverts, underground spaces, and construction sites. They said that it was necessary that staff responsible for flood control were on duty for 24 hours to ensure that the situation was under control. Flood control measures were also to be ensured in the library and in residential and teaching facilities.
