Sias Students win 2 prizes at 13th Computer Design Competition

The 13th China University Students' Computer Design Competition (2020) concluded with two teams from Sias University - the University Competition Management System, and the Intelligent Environmental Protection Supervision Platform - finishing second. The teams were led by Prof. Zhou Xiping from the School of Electronics & Information Engineering.


With the restrictions brought about by the Coronavirus pandemic, this year's competition was held online. It was divided into two stages: preliminary evaluation (network evaluation), and re-evaluation (online defense). Competitors from over 600 universities across China, including Peking University, Renmin University of China, Beijing Language & Culture University, Nanjing University, Wuhan University, Harbin University of Technology, Xiamen University, and Sichuan University, entered the re-evaluation stage of the competition. Over 1,000 projects competed online in the final stage.


It is reported that the China University Students' Computer Design Competition is one of the oldest competitions for undergraduate students in Mainland China. Since 2008, it has been sponsored by the Ministry of Education in association with computer-related teaching committees. It is now one of the foremost national university competitions.
