Teachers and students from Sias University's School of Music & Opera won many awards at competitions including the 3rd Great Yellow River Music Festival of Henan Province (2019 "Brilliant China") and "The King of the Fingertips" Henan University Professional Piano Competition, and the 7th Campus Music Art Talent Competition and 2020 New Era Youth Spring Festival Gala.

To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the 3rd Great Yellow River Music Festival of Henan Province (2019 "Brilliant China"), aimed at expressing the dreams, heart, and love for a better life, and to carry forward the strongest voice of the times through songs and vocal performances. The 7th Campus Music Art Talent Competition aimed at implementing the spirit of the Party and State Conference with regard to building culture, promoting the strategy of building Socialist cultural power, and deeply studying and understanding the theoretical thinking of General Secretary Xi Jinping's realization of the dream of rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Teachers and students from Sias University have participated in the competition since its inception.
