Sias wins 10th World Mandarin Debate Championships Henan Division

The Finals of the Henan Division of the 10th World Mandarin Debate Championships were held at Sias University on December 7. The event was organized by the Organizing Committee of the World Mandarin Debate Championships and was hosted by Sias' Communist Youth League. The Sias University debate team won the Henan Division by defeating the team from Henan University of Technology 4:1.


Teams from 21 universities across Henan took part, including teams from Henan University of Science & Technology, Henan University of Technology, Anyang Institute of Technology, Anyang Normal University, North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power, Henan University Minsheng College, and the Henan University of Engineering.


The competition lasted for over 2 weeks, and after the preliminary rounds and semi-finals, the teams from Sias University and the Henan University of Technology reached the finals. The topic for the finals was "Will It Be Better to Obey the World?". At the end of a well-received series of debates, the team from Sias University won 4:1, with Xiao Jintao winning the award for Best Debater in the competition.


The World Mandarin Debate Championships have been held nine times since 2011. The event attracts teams from over 200 universities across the world to participate in a competition that recognizes the most authoritative Mandarin language debaters from universities and colleges in China and abroad.
