Sias Chairman holds talks with renowned American universities

The Founder and Chairman of the Board of Sias University, Dr. Shawn Chen, visited and held talks on international cooperation with Virginia Tech, the University of Pittsburgh, and the University of California, Riverside, from October 17 to 23. He held in-depth meetings and negotiations with senior members of the universities and signed agreements for cooperation and exchanges. The heads of Sias' Office of International Affairs and School of Business accompanied Dr. Chen on the visits.


On October 21, Dr. Chen signed a cooperation agreement with Virginia Tech on behalf of Sias University. Virginia Tech, located on the East Coast of the United States, in Blacksburg, Virginia, is a world-famous research university. It is ranked in the top 50 universities in the US for Engineering and is in the top 10 for Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Industrial Engineering. They are ranked 39th for Public Affairs, and their School of Business and School of Education are both in the top 100 in the US. The signing of the cooperation agreement marks another step in Sias University's growth as an international university.


On October 22 and 23, Dr. Chen visited the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Chen and the delegation from Sias met with the President of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford & Titusville, Dr. Catherine Koverola. They held in-depth discussions with the Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs, Dr. Steven Hardin, and the Vice President for Enrollment Management, Dr. James Baldwin, on cooperation in scientific research, teacher-student exchanges, and other projects. Founded in 1787, the University of Pittsburgh is one of the top public research universities in the US and is one of the oldest universities in the US as well. It is a member of the Association of American Universities (AAU) and is known as a "Public Ivy" university. Sias University first signed an agreement with the University of Pittsburgh in 2012 and has since had faculty and student exchanges as well as cultural visits.


At the University of California, Riverside, Dr. Chen met with the Dean of the School of Business Administration, Dr. Wang Yunzeng. He said that the University of California, Riverside, would continue their support of undergraduate and postgraduate cooperation projects, increase the amount and quantity of scholarships, and increase their support for admissions and student services. The University of California, Riverside, (also known as UCR) is a member of one of the most influential public university systems in the world - the University of California System (UC System). It is also the fastest-growing university system. It is ranked 79th among all universities in the US. In 2014, Sias University signed a cooperation agreement with the university with discussions centering on a "3+1+1" Master's degree program.


The signing of agreements with these three world-famous universities in the United States has given Sias a platform to increase its internationalization and ties with universities around the world. It facilitates an increase in faculty and student exchanges and ensures an increase in Sias' international cooperation.
