The provincial government of the province of Henan held a celebratory reception in Zhengzhou for the National Day of the People's Republic of China on the 28th of September. The Governor of Henan, Wang Kai, attended the ceremony, as did the Deputy Party Secretary of the Henan Provincial Communist Party Committee, Kong Changsheng, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Henan People’s Congress, Xu Jichao, Vice Governor of Henan, He Jinping, and Chairman of the Henan Provincial Communist Party Committee, and Vice Chairman of the Henan CPPCC, Zhang Yazhong. The Founder, and Chairman of the Board of Sias University, Dr. Shawn Chen, was invited to the reception and to participate in the Yellow River Friendship Award.
On behalf of the Henan Provincial Communist Party Committee and the Government of Henan, and under the directives of the Party Secretary of the Henan Provincial Communist Party Committee, Lou Yangsheng, Governor Wang Kai extended holiday greetings and wishes to the people of Henan, the soldiers of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) stationed in Henan, officers and members of the police, people from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, overseas Chinese representatives attending the banquet, and foreign experts and guests. He said that in the 72 since the founding of the People's Republic of China, and particularly since the 18th CPC National Congress, the people of Henan had worked hard to promote the development of the province from a traditionally agricultural province to an important economic, emerging industrial, and culturally significant province in China. He said that they had transformed the province from one of insufficient food and clothing to a well-off society.
Wang Kai said that throughout the past year, under the guidance of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, and the leadership of the Henan Provincial Communist Party Committee, the province of Henan had implemented the important instructions of General-Secretary Xi Jinping. The province had to fight three tough battles - flood prevention, disaster relief, and the prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic. He said that the economy and society had remained stable, resumed their growth, and had exhibited a strong resilience concerning its development. He said that Henan was very grateful for the assistance and support provided by the national ministries and commissions, central enterprises, other provinces and cities, the officers and soldiers of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), and the police force.
Wang Kai also said that Henan had reached a new historical starting point and a vital stage in which it could make great achievements. The working meeting of the provincial party committee had put forward a goal of "Two Guarantees", made arrangements for the implementation of the "Ten Strategies", and had planned the grand blueprint and path of Henan's future development. He added that the province would seize strategic opportunities for creating new development plans, promoting high-quality development while focusing on the ecological protection and development of the Yellow River Basin.
The event also had video speeches from the ambassadors of Belarus, Uzbekistan, Uruguay, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.
