From March 25 to 26, Dr. Shawn Chen, President of the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA), President of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP), and Founder and Chairman of Sias University, led a delegation to visit H3C Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Ziguang Corporation, for investigation. The delegation was received and accompanied by Liu Zhan, Vice President of H3C and President of H3C Industrial Internet Research Institute. During their visit, Dr. Chen and his entourage toured H3C Future Factory, H3C Innovation Experience Center, and H3C Industrial Internet Technology R&D Center. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as international talent cultivation and wisdom education, ultimately reaching a consensus on the joint establishment of the "Sias-H3C School of New Industry and Digital Intelligence Technology."
At H3C Future Factory, Dr. Chen and his team were impressed by the advanced technology of the high-end intelligent "Industry 4.0" production base, and they highly commended H3C's achievements in the development of new industries and the construction of intelligent factories. Furthermore, during their visit to H3C Hangzhou Innovation Experience Center and H3C Industrial Internet Technology R&D Center, Dr. Chen and his team listened attentively to the company's comprehensive introduction. They were particularly focused on H3C's full-stack landing solutions and achievement examples in the field of industrial Internet and other innovative technologies.
After the visit, the two sides carried out in-depth exchanges around school-enterprise cooperation matters. Liu Zhan introduced in detail the development strategy of H3C in the era of AI, emphasizing that H3C will continue to implement the "AI in ALL" and "AI for ALL" strategies, promote the intelligence of digital infrastructure, and facilitate the landing of more intelligent applications in all sectors and industries. The highlights of the exchange include a strategic focus on education, where H3C intends to diligently fulfill the cooperation agreement signed with Sias in September, 2023. By integrating AI and other innovative technologies, H3C aims to empower teaching, management, and service scenarios at Sias. Serving as a bridge between talent cultivation and industrial application, H3C will collaborate with Sias to expedite the establishment of the Sias-H3C School of New Industry and Digital Intelligence Technology. Drawing on the principles of open innovation and diversified education, this School will strive to cultivate top-notch applied talents, ensuring students are job-ready upon graduation and competent in their roles upon joining the workforce.
Dr. Chen expressed his earnest expectation for the deepening of cooperation between the two sides. He highlighted that over the past 27 years, Sias has steadfastly adhered to its school motto of "East meets West, integrating knowledge with practice," and has carried forward the school spirit of "openness, inclusiveness, practicality, innovation." By implementing the education model of "liberal arts education + holistic education + integrated education," Sias has been actively exploring new avenues for the high-quality development of education through digital technology, innovative industry-education integration models, and novel talent cultivation mechanisms. Furthermore, Dr. Chen noted that H3C's iConnecting Industrial Internet technology strategy promises to achieve interconnection and synergistic optimization among production factors, value activities, and upstream and downstream entities within the industrial chain. This strategy transitions from "enabling the digital transformation of industry" to "empowering the high-quality development of the industrial economy." Internet industrial academies provide robust support for the integration of industry and education, assisting the Sias-H3C School of New Industry and Digital Intelligence Technology in successfully completing the pilot project for the integration of multiple specialties in new engineering education.
After the meeting, the two sides reached a consensus: they proposed to set up three professional directions of Digital Brain, Industrial Operating System, and Intelligent Factory in the jointly-established School, accelerate the landing of the talent cultivation program and the signing of the cooperation agreement, aiming to reach the target of the first undergraduate enrollment.
In this collaboration, H3C adheres to the principle of "precision and pragmatism, empowering wisdom for the times." By leveraging its prominent advantages in the realm of education digitization, H3C seizes the opportunities of our current era alongside Sias. The focus is on nurturing digitized and applied talents through the concrete implementation of industry-education integration. This endeavor aims to infuse fresh momentum into the advancement of high-quality economic and social development in Henan Province.
