MOU Signed between Sias University and University of the West of England

On the afternoon of April 30, Sias University and the University of the West of England, Bristol (UWE), formally executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for inter-university collaboration during an online signing ceremony. The event was attended by Ms. Jo Midgley, Executive Vice-Chancellor of UWE, and Prof. Lucy Lu, Provost and Vice President of Sias University, who jointly witnessed this milestone in academic partnership.

Prof. Lucy Lu emphasized that since its inception, Sias University has remained committed to the motto of "East meets West, integrating knowledge with practice," while steadfastly pursuing the internationalization of its educational approach. She noted that this Memorandum of Understanding will serve as a catalyst for deepening academic exchanges and collaborative initiatives between the two institutions. In closing remarks, Prof. Lu extended a formal invitation to the UWE to attend the joint 60th Anniversary Conference and Mid-Term Meeting of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP), scheduled for 13-15 October, 2025, at Cyber Seoul University in South Korea.

Ms. Jo Midgley expressed confidence in the collaborative potential between both institutions. She reaffirmed the UWE’s enduring commitment to fostering bilateral cultural and educational exchanges between China and the United Kingdom, expressing hope that this agreement would serve as a catalyst for deeper institutional collaboration.

In conclusion, Prof. Lucy Lu and Ms. Jo Midgley, serving as institutional representatives, formally executed a virtual "cloud" agreement that outlined specific cooperation frameworks across three key areas: student exchange programs, faculty mobility initiatives, and collaborative research ventures.
