On May 28, the inaugural exhibition “Emerging from Cocoon, Chasing the Light” – the first-ever graduates' works showcase by the Photography Department of Sias School of Journalism & Communication – officially opened at the No. 19 Classroom Building Exhibition Hall. The event will run until June 11. Prior to the launch, Zhao Yuxin, Vice President, Secretary of the CPC Sias Commission for Discipline Inspection of Sias University, visited the venue to inspect exhibition preparations.

Serving as the debut collective presentation of the 2025 Photography graduates' creative achievements, this exhibition not only highlights the students' four-year academic journey but also marks an artistic odyssey spanning their university years. The exhibited works span diverse themes and formats, incorporating a rich array of photographic techniques that fully demonstrate the students' profound artistic mastery and innovative spirit. From in-depth documentaries of intangible cultural heritage to creative reinterpretations of the metaverse concept, and from delicate presentations of traditional darkroom craftsmanship to precise augmentation through modern AI technologies – each piece embodies the creators' dedication, showcasing the unique allure of photographic art.
The “Emerging from Cocoon, Chasing the Light” Exhibition stands as both a testament to the artistic talents of photography students and a vivid demonstration of Sias's educational achievements in visual arts. We anticipate these young creators will continue to wield their lenses as pens, composing brilliant chapters in the future and contributing to the evolution of photographic art.
