With the arrival of spring and the renewal of nature, on March 12—the 48th Arbor Day—Sias University organized its 2026 Spring Voluntary Tree-Planting Activity under the theme “Plant Green Dreams, Harvest Youth Responsibility.” University Party Secretary Niu Xiaoyu, Vice Presidents Zhao Yuxin and Yuan Guanglin, along with other university leaders, attended the event. More than 300 participants, including administrative staff representatives and faculty and student representatives from various residential colleges, took part in the activity. The event was hosted by Yuan Guanglin.

In his remarks, Niu Xiaoyu emphasized that Arbor Day is not only a day for planting and protecting greenery, but also an important occasion for promoting ecological awareness. He called on all faculty and students to keep in mind the principle that “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets,” and to integrate ecological values into daily life and practice. He noted that the university has consistently upheld a philosophy of ecological priority and green development, actively building a sustainable and beautiful campus through initiatives such as tree planting and landscape enhancement. Currently, the campus green area has exceeded 570,000 square meters. He encouraged everyone to internalize green values and translate them into action, allowing youth responsibility to shine through environmental practice.

At the event site, university leaders, faculty, and students worked together in coordinated teams—digging soil, planting saplings, filling pits, and watering the trees. Each step was carried out in an orderly manner, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere as participants contributed to adding new greenery to the campus.

To ensure the smooth implementation of the activity, the Logistics Service Center completed preparatory work in advance, including site planning, sapling selection, and digging planting pits. Necessary tools such as shovels, buckets, and water hoses were fully prepared to support the efficient organization of the event.

This tree-planting activity not only served as a concrete practice of the university’s commitment to ecological development, but also functioned as a vivid hands-on lesson in labor education. It effectively enhanced environmental awareness among faculty and students, encouraging them to plant, appreciate, and protect greenery, while putting youth responsibility into action.

Looking ahead, Sias University will continue to uphold the philosophy of green development, deepen efforts in building an ecological campus, and further strengthen its environmental foundation, making sustainability a defining feature of its high-quality development.
