On the afternoon of April 15, Sias University held the launch ceremony and first class of the AI+X Vibe Coding Experimental Program (Phase I) at the Experimental Teaching Center. Dr. Shawn chen, Founder and Chairman of the Board, attended the event. Representatives from the Office of Information Technology Development and Management, the Academic Affairs Office, program leaders, and all faculty and students of the first cohort were present. The ceremony was hosted by Vice President Zhao Yuxin.

At the ceremony, Zhao Yuxin announced the list of selected participants for the program and presented a data-driven overview of the cohort, including their academic backgrounds, learning and practical experience, and development potential.

In his remarks, Dr. Shawn chen congratulated the selected faculty and students. He emphasized that the establishment and launch of the AI+X Vibe Coding Experimental Program marks a milestone in the university’s development. He noted that the university will continue to advance AI+X reforms and provide strong support for the program’s growth. He encouraged all participants to seize this opportunity, actively explore cutting-edge fields, strengthen their capabilities, and pursue innovation, striving to become outstanding representatives of the university’s talent cultivation reform.

During the project introduction session, Program Director Dr. Xiao Fujun outlined the dual-driven training model of “theoretical learning and real-world projects.” He introduced the categories and core value of the collected real-world projects, helping participants better understand the program’s instructional design and practice-oriented approach.

Faculty representative Zhang Yi from the School of International Education and student representative Feng Jingwen, a 2024 Communication Engineering major, shared their motivations and expectations for joining the program. They expressed appreciation for the university’s efforts in building a cutting-edge AI learning platform and affirmed their commitment to engaging in educational innovation and improving themselves through practice.

In the first lecture session, Dr. Tong Jiarui, Chair of the IEEE Artificial Intelligence Standards Committee and course instructor, delivered a lecture on “Artificial Intelligence and Interdisciplinary Innovation.” He provided an in-depth explanation of the core concept and educational paradigm of AI+X, and systematically introduced the challenge-driven learning structure, competency goals, and outcome-oriented approach of the Vibe Coding course. His lecture helped participants develop a comprehensive understanding of the curriculum, learning methods, and pathways to achievement.

During the interactive session, faculty and students engaged in discussions around topics such as “Why I joined the program,” “What I hope to gain,” and “Core class culture and shared values.” Through this exchange, participants began to transition from selected members to active contributors and co-builders of the program.

In conclusion, Dr. Xiao Fujun stated that as an important initiative in advancing talent cultivation reform in the age of artificial intelligence, the AI+X Vibe Coding Experimental Program will continue to focus on AI learning, real-world project practice, and outcome-based development. The program aims to cultivate interdisciplinary talents equipped with strong AI literacy, advanced system design capabilities, and the ability to solve real-world problems.
