Delegation from Hangzhou Alibaba Overseas Digital Commerce Co., Ltd. Visits Sias University for Exchange and Cooperation

On the morning of March 19, a delegation of ten representatives from Hangzhou Alibaba Overseas Digital Commerce Co., Ltd., led by Wang Yongjian, General Manager of the Central and Western China Region, and Wu Hongxia, Political Commissioner, visited Sias University for a research and exchange visit. A cooperation meeting was held in the conference room on the 15th floor of the library. Dr. Shawn Chen, Founder and Chairman of the Board, and Vice President Zhao Yuxin attended the meeting, along with representatives from the Academic Affairs Office and the School of International Education.

During the visit, the delegation toured key campus facilities, including Building T19, the Experimental Teaching Center, Qixian Residential College, and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubation Center. The visit provided a comprehensive view of the university’s learning environment, industry-education integration practices, campus life, and innovation and entrepreneurship support systems.

At the meeting, Dr. Shawn Chen introduced the university’s distinctive educational model, achievements in industry-education integration, and future development vision. He emphasized the university’s commitment to cultivating practical skills, its early initiatives in entrepreneurship education, and its efforts to advance educational reform through AI technologies. He also expressed a strong interest in deepening cooperation with Alibaba International Station to jointly cultivate digital trade professionals.

Wang Yongjian spoke highly of the university’s advanced educational理念 and its strong track record in talent development. He provided an overview of Alibaba International Station’s industrial布局 and its core approach to university-enterprise collaboration. He noted that the digital trade industry is entering a new phase of development, where skilled professionals play a critical role. He emphasized Alibaba’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the university and expressed hope for jointly developing high-quality programs to cultivate application-oriented and practice-ready digital trade talent.

Chu Jinjin, Director of the School of International Education, presented the achievements of the university’s collaboration with Alibaba International Station over the past three years. These include integrated efforts in curriculum development, internships and practical training, employment placement, and customized talent programs. Wang Ru, Deputy General Manager of Merchant Development for the Central and Western China Region, introduced the overall framework and vision for Alibaba’s university-enterprise partnerships, outlining talent requirements and collaborative education models.

During the discussion session, both sides built on their strong foundation of cooperation to exchange views on collaboration formats and models, reaching a consensus on further deepening their partnership. They agreed to refine implementation plans following the meeting, translate discussions into action, and jointly establish a long-term “enterprise + university” collaborative education mechanism. By integrating high-quality resources and aligning talent development with industry needs, both sides aim to achieve shared benefits and sustainable cooperation.
