On May 23, a delegation led by Brent White, President of Golden Gate University in the United States, visited SIAS University for academic exchange and cooperation discussions. Chen Xiaochun, Founder and Chairman of the Board of SIAS University, welcomed the delegation. During the meeting, the two institutions engaged in in-depth discussions on credit recognition and transfer, Sino-foreign cooperative education programs, reciprocal faculty and student exchanges, and the joint establishment of overseas campuses, reaching a series of practical agreements for future collaboration.

During the meeting, Chen Xiaochun extended a warm welcome to President White and his delegation. He introduced SIAS University’s educational philosophy embodied in its motto, “Integrating Chinese and Western Cultures, Uniting Knowledge and Practice,” as well as the University’s longstanding commitment to international education and achievements in developing an internationally oriented campus environment. He noted that internationalization has always been a cornerstone of the University’s development strategy. Over more than two decades of educational cooperation between China and the United States, SIAS has established a comprehensive international partnership framework encompassing degree programs, faculty collaboration, cultural exchange, and industry–education integration. He expressed hope that both universities would leverage their respective strengths to expand cooperation, explore innovative partnership models, and jointly cultivate highly qualified applied talents with global perspectives and practical competencies, thereby contributing to deeper people-to-people exchanges between China and the United States.

President Brent White highly commended SIAS University’s achievements in international education, industry–education integration, and talent development. He remarked that the University’s well-established international cooperation mechanisms, immersive international campus environment, and innovative educational model were particularly impressive and closely aligned with the educational philosophy of Golden Gate University. He noted that the two institutions have significant potential for collaboration in areas such as credit transfer and recognition, joint academic programs, and the co-development of overseas campuses. He expressed his hope that this visit would serve as a catalyst for advancing these initiatives and establishing a model of practical cooperation between Chinese and American universities.

During the visit, President White and his delegation toured the School of Digital Technology and Industry, where they gained firsthand insight into its distinctive educational approach and expressed strong appreciation for its achievements and innovative practices.

The visit represents another important step in SIAS University’s ongoing efforts to expand its global partnership network and deepen educational exchanges between China and the United States. Moving forward, the University will build upon the outcomes of this visit to steadily advance initiatives in credit transfer, cooperative education programs, faculty and student exchanges, and the joint development of overseas campuses. Through these efforts, SIAS will continue to enrich its internationalization strategy and strengthen its position as a leader in international education among private universities, while contributing to the cultivation of globally minded graduates with strong cultural roots, international competencies, and cross-cultural communication skills.

Representatives from the Office of International Affairs accompanied the delegation throughout the discussions.
