Tsinghua University and Peking University CSPS Project Team Visit Our University for Guidance and Exchange

On the morning of June 4, Associate Professor Wu Binzhen from the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University, Deputy Director of the China Institute for Fiscal and Taxation Studies, and Professor Shi Xinzheng from the School of Economics at Peking University and Boya Young Scholar, visited our university for an academic exchange.

They held a thematic discussion on the China College Student Panel Survey (CSPS) project and issues related to the development of higher education.

Executive Vice President Wu Hua and Vice President Professor Yuan Guanglin attended the meeting, along with heads of relevant departments.

The expert team conducted an on-site visit to the Experimental Teaching Center, Student Activity Center, and residential colleges.

They received detailed briefings on the university’s experimental teaching facilities, residential college education model, and internationalized campus environment.

The experts highly commended the university’s distinctive educational spaces and its strong academic and student development atmosphere.

Subsequently, both sides held a symposium in the 15th-floor conference room of the library, chaired by Vice President Yuan Guanglin.

On behalf of the university, Executive Vice President Wu Hua warmly welcomed the expert team from Tsinghua University and Peking University. He introduced the university’s overall development, educational philosophy, and distinctive features.

He stated that the visit of the expert team represents strong support for the university’s development and expressed hope to gain forward-looking guidance through this opportunity.

Professor Shi Xinzheng shared insights based on research and practice at Peking University, offering suggestions on talent cultivation in applied universities from an economic perspective.

During the discussion session, both sides engaged in in-depth exchanges on the connotation development of high-level applied universities, pathways for optimizing academic disciplines and programs, and the cultivation of students’ core competencies. Participants from our university also consulted the experts on specific practical issues related to their work.

This exchange strengthened the dialogue between our university and leading research teams from top Chinese universities, providing valuable intellectual support for learning advanced educational concepts, scientifically evaluating talent cultivation processes, and planning future development strategies.

Both sides expressed hope to take this opportunity to explore ongoing cooperation in areas such as education and teaching research, data analysis, and faculty development.
