To implement the summer safety management requirements of the Henan Provincial Department of Education, strengthen campus safety defenses, enhance summer fire risk prevention and control, and effectively protect the lives and property of faculty, staff, and students, SIAS University organized a Special Summer Campus Safety Inspection on the afternoon of July 16.

The inspection was divided into three teams, each led by university leaders. Relevant officials from the Party and Administrative Office, Supervision and Audit Office, Student Affairs Office, Security Office, Logistics Service Center, Commercial Management Center, and other functional departments accompanied the inspection.

The inspection teams conducted a comprehensive investigation covering all key areas and locations across the campus.

The first team focused on administrative buildings, classrooms, the library, and laboratory and practical training facilities. They carefully inspected fire protection facilities, electrical wiring systems, laboratory equipment, and flood prevention material reserves. The team required responsible departments to establish regular facility inspection mechanisms to ensure that potential risks could be identified and addressed at an early stage.

The second team focused on student dormitories, inspecting fire safety equipment and emergency evacuation routes one by one. They conducted strict checks on issues such as unauthorized electrical wiring and the use of high-power electrical appliances. The team required all residential colleges to strengthen grid-based safety management responsibilities and regularly carry out student safety education and awareness programs.

The third team conducted inspections of key areas including campus dining facilities, power distribution rooms, storage warehouses, summer renovation construction sites, and campus commercial stores. The inspection focused on standardizing temporary electricity use and hot-work operations at construction sites. Any safety issues that could be immediately corrected were addressed on-site, while a problem tracking list was established simultaneously.

During the on-site inspection, university leaders emphasized that various safety risks are more likely to occur during the summer period. All departments must firmly establish a bottom-line safety mindset and ensure that safety management responsibilities are fully implemented at every level.

They stressed the need to strengthen comprehensive closed-loop management of construction-related hot-work operations, increase the frequency of daily inspections in student dormitories, regularly conduct safety warning education for all faculty and students, improve the system for tracking and resolving safety hazards, and safeguard campus security and stability in all aspects.

Moving forward, the university will use this inspection as an opportunity to closely monitor the implementation of corrective measures, regularly conduct safety inspections in key areas, continuously strengthen the foundation of campus safety management, and ensure a safe and stable campus environment throughout the summer period.
