2026 Henan Experimental High School Summer Teacher Training Program Held at Our University Building a strong education system starts with strengthening basic education.

 From July 5 to 18, the “Empowering Six Areas with Digital Intelligence and Enhancing Seven Competencies through Professional Development” Summer Teacher Training Program, organized by Henan Experimental High School and hosted by the School of Continuing Education of our university, was held in the university library lecture hall. The training was conducted in two sessions, with more than 800 key teachers from Henan Experimental High School participating in systematic and specialized training. The program focused on educational digital transformation and the improvement of teachers’ comprehensive professional competencies.

At the opening ceremony, Dr. Shawn Chen, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the  sias university, delivered a speech. Based on the university motto of “Embracing Chinese and Western Cultures, Integrating Knowledge and Practice,” Dr. Chen highlighted that this training program represents an important practice in which higher education institutions empower basic education and strengthen collaborative development between schools. He encouraged participating teachers to seize the opportunities brought by digital education development, enhance reflection through systematic training, improve their capabilities through learning, strengthen their comprehensive educational skills, and achieve overall professional growth.

Li Xiaofeng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Principal of Henan Experimental High School, expressed appreciation for the university’s detailed preparation and encouraged all participating teachers to value this training opportunity, integrate advanced educational concepts with teaching practices, and truly achieve the goals of “learning with reflection, gaining through learning, and applying knowledge in practice.”

Wang Rui, Secretary of the Party Committee of Henan Experimental High School, called on all participating teachers to maintain a positive learning attitude, devote themselves to professional development, actively exchange ideas, and learn from one another. He encouraged teachers to continuously update their educational concepts, improve professional abilities, and enhance classroom quality and educational effectiveness through solid training outcomes.

During the program, renowned education experts and outstanding frontline teachers from institutions including China Executive Leadership Academy Pudong, Henan Normal University, Zhongyuan University of Technology, and the Experimental High School Affiliated to Beijing Normal University delivered a series of specialized lectures. The program included 12 thematic sessions, such as “AI-Enabled Career Development Guidance for Middle School Students,” “Teachers’ Mission and Professional Competence in the Context of Educational Excellence,” “Integrated Cultivation of Top Innovative Talents in Secondary Education,” “How Generative AI Enhances the Quality and Efficiency of Primary and Secondary Classroom Teaching,” and “China’s Strength Requires the Strength of Education and Culture.” The courses covered teacher professional development, class management and psychological education, teachers’ missions in the new era, innovative talent cultivation, and the application of generative artificial intelligence in classrooms, combining cutting-edge theories with practical teaching needs.

The training program also included diverse cultural and recreational activities, creating a comprehensive development system combining professional learning and personal enrichment. Beyond the classroom, special training on teacher etiquette was provided to enhance professional conduct and communication skills. A campus concert was organized to enrich teachers’ educational perspectives through art and culture. Sports and recreational facilities, including the university bowling center, indoor heated swimming pool, and golf practice area, were opened to participants, providing opportunities for communication and experience sharing. Through campus tours and smart technology experiences, teachers gained an immersive understanding of the university’s distinctive campus culture featuring the integration of Chinese and Western traditions.

It is reported that, to ensure a comfortable and efficient training experience for more than 800 participating teachers, the School of Continuing Education coordinated various resources and provided comprehensive, detailed support in venue preparation, accommodation, catering, and logistics services. Dedicated teaching and research spaces equipped with complete facilities and a comfortable environment were prepared to meet the needs of large-scale lectures, group discussions, and collective dining. The university conference center provided clean and comfortable accommodation with complete facilities, creating a supportive environment where participants could learn effectively, live comfortably, and receive reliable services.

This training program represents an important initiative of the School of Continuing Education in leveraging educational resources and deepening cooperation between institutions. In the future, the School of Continuing Education will continue to focus on the professional development of basic education teachers, develop high-quality training programs through digital and diversified approaches, and contribute to the continuous improvement of regional basic education quality.
