CHINESE LANGUAGE AND CULTURE PROGRAM


Program Introduction

- The Chinese Language Studies Program is a non-degree program and is open to international students who are interested in the Chinese language and Chinese culture. Students learn Chinese at Sias University as full-time general visiting students.

- The instruction is divided into elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels.

- Classes will be for approximately 20 hours per week and are taught in Chinese and English.

- Besides Chinese language studies in the classroom, Sias also offers program students a series of activities to experience Chinese culture and get a deeper understanding of China.

- Upon completion of the program students will receive a program certificate and an official transcript. The program is normally one semester-long, but students can apply for extending their period of study to a maximum of one year.


Curriculum

1. Chinese Language Courses: Comprehensive Reading, Oral Chinese, Chinese Listening, Chinese Characters, Chinese Reading, Chinese Writing.

2. Chinese Culture Courses: Introduction to China, Traditional Chinese Painting, Calligraphy, Martial Arts, Chinese Folk Music, etc.

Qualifications

1. The applicant is expected to study hard and observe Chinese laws and the regulations of Sias University.

2. The applicant should have a high school diploma or have the equivalent educational background of a high school diploma.

3. The applicant should be over 18 years old.





BACHELOR'S DEGREE PROGRAMS


Program Introduction

- This program is open to international students who want to get a bachelor's degree. They are required to complete the curriculum within 4 years and fulfill the designated number of credits.

- Sias University offers 46 majors across its 17 academic schools.

- Successful graduates will receive a graduation certificate along with the bachelor’s degree and an official transcript, according to the regulations of the Degree Committee.

Qualifications

1. The applicant is expected to study hard and observe Chinese laws and the regulations of Sias University.

2. The applicant should have a high school diploma or have the equivalent educational background of a high school diploma.

3. The applicant should be a non-Chinese citizen with a passport valid for at least 6 months.

4. The applicant should be at least 18 years old.

5. The applicant should have HSK level 4 certificates, or take the preparatory Chinese Language Course for at least 1 year at Sias. (This is only for academic majors taught in Chinese).





DUAL DEGREE PROGRAMS


Program Introduction

- Students are required to complete the curriculum within 4 to 6 years and fulfill the designated number of credits.

- Successful graduates will receive a graduation certificate along with the bachelor’s degree, according to the regulations of the Degree Committee.

- Students will get two certificates, one from Sias University and another from Fort Hays State University (USA).

Qualifications

1. The applicant is expected to study hard and observe Chinese laws and the regulations of Sias University.

2. The applicant should have a high school diploma or have the equivalent educational background of a high school diploma.

3. The applicant should be 18 to 25 years old.

4. The applicant should have a good command of English and have the ability to take courses in English.

5. All the applicants should pass an English Level Test at the beginning of their first semester at Sias. They can submit Chinese and English proficiency test certificates when they submit the application materials as well. (HSK Level 4 / TOEFL IBT 60 / IELTS 5.5)

EXCHANGE STUDENT PROGRAM


Program Introduction

- An overseas student wishing to study at Sias University for one semester/year but not for a degree may be admitted as a General Visiting Student (Exchange Student).

- Overseas universities with student exchange agreements with Sias University may select students of non-Chinese nationalities for an exchange program at Sias for a Chinese language course and specific undergraduate courses.

- Upon completion of the program, students will receive a program certificate and an official transcript.

Qualifications

1. The applicant is expected to study hard and observe Chinese laws and the regulations of Sias University.

2. An applicant must be a non-Chinese citizen with a valid passport.

3. The applicant should be 18 to 25 years old.

4. The applicant should have completed at least one year of undergraduate study at their own university.





SHORT TERM PROGRAMS


Program Introduction

- This is a Flexible Customized program and is based on the 3 Ws (whoever, whenever, whatever).

- Sias University offers a wide range of individualized Chinese Language Training Courses and Tour Study for special enterprises, schools, and organizations.

- Depending on your needs, Sias offers language practice activities, and integrates cultural experiential teaching with language teaching, giving students the authentic experience of Chinese culture.

- Upon completion of the program, students will receive a program certificate.

- Classes are taught in Chinese and/or English (optional)

Training

The project is open to foreigners who want to pass their HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) in a short period of time.

- The program will provide students with special training in Chinese listening, speaking, reading, and writing, by professional teachers.

- Students will be familiarized with the types, amount, and time distribution of HSK questions.

- The program will help students to answer questions skillfully and get a high score.





Business

Training

The project is open to businessmen or international students who want to work in China.

- The program provides students with Chinese language classes in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, as well as other business courses.

- The program invites professors and managers to give lectures to help students understand China's economy, trade, culture, etiquette, and related policies and regulations when they are engaged in business cooperation and negotiations.

- Students will visit Chinese enterprises to understand international trade between countries.

- Outstanding students will be given recommendations to work or practice in Chinese enterprises.

The project is open to foreigners who want to communicate in Chinese in their daily lives in a relatively simple way and learn good intercultural communication.

- the program focuses on improving students' Chinese listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities with regard to their daily Chinese communication.

- the program provides lectures and workshops to share traditional Chinese culture with the students.

The project is open to a team of foreigners who want to study the Chinese language and culture, take part in activities with Chinese students, or travel within China.

- The program provides students with Chinese classes for listening, speaking, reading, and writing for effective daily communication.

- The program provides lectures and workshops and shares traditional Chinese culture with the students.

- The program organizes teamwork with Chinese people to improve the students’
cross-cultural communication skills through leadership, combined study/research, team competitions, and group performances.

- The program organizes visits to tourist attractions, big cities, communities, and
voluntary organizations in China.

This is a completely customized project. VIP students can make any combination of the projects according to their time and needs.
