Zhixing Residential College adheres to its motto of "perseverance, the unity of knowledge and practice", and nurtures students' ability to "seek truth, follow reason, develop elegance and integrity". In 2020, the Communist Party Committee of the residential college was awarded the title of "Advanced Grassroots Party Organization" by the Henan University Work Committee.

Zhixing Residential College guides students to develop a healthy lifestyle by carrying out fun activities, tug-of-war, and basketball games. Students' critical thinking and language expression are nurtured through debate competitions, speech contests, and propaganda contests. With the Mental Health Knowledge Competition, psychological drama competition, and group counseling, students are encouraged to develop a healthy psychology, too. The residential college also carries out CET-4 and CET-6 preparation lectures, Postgraduate Entrance Examination lectures, and English Corners, to help students develop scientific learning habits. Through the development of the Knowledge & Practice Lecture Hall, Science Training Camp, Popular Science Knowledge Competition, and scientific and analytical education courses, students are trained to meet the needs of the nation for social development in the New Era.
