Graduate Employment

Sias University has prioritized the employment of its graduating students and their awareness and ability towards innovation and entrepreneurship. Sias has focused on training students with vocational skills to increase their opportunities in the employment market. The goal is to ease the pressure for employment that students face, strengthen their employment prospects, and guide graduates in the correct avenues of job-hunting by expanding the employment channels. Graduates chose jobs that suit their talents, abilities, and intellectual capacities, according to their academic majors and interests.

Students are supported in their bid for employment and entrepreneurship through the Employment & Entrepreneurship Department, as well as Entrepreneurial Parks, and Alumni Associations, among other means, thereby building a diversified employment platform at the University. Students are also able to engage in venture project matching to further their entrepreneurial skills.

Sias sets up career planning and employment consulting stations to aid students with their employment rate, résumé guidance, and career planning. The Employment and Entrepreneurship Department brought in senior employment guidance teachers to provide consultation services, address students' doubts, and teach students about employment policies. Senior human resources experts, academics, counselors, and career planners are present to provide employment guidance services for students. One-on-one professional counseling is available to hone students' job-hunting skills.

Some companies set up multifunctional experience areas to help students understand the work environment and requirements, and increase the rate of contract signing. The companies offering jobs are from a wide range of fields such as education consultation, economic management, advertising, finance, tourism, cultural communication, medicine, information technology (IT), energy, hotel management, construction, real estate, electronics, and machinery. The variety of fields are necessary as they cater to the employment needs of students from different academic majors at Sias.

Sias University holds large-scale job fairs every semester and special recruitment fairs are held each week by Sias' Employment & Entrepreneurship Department. The job fairs provide students with a platform to showcase their professional skills, communication, and quality to employers. They give graduating students the experience of a rigorous screening and selection process while helping them learn about various fields of employment and potential employers. The job fairs also implement directives from the Henan (Provincial) Education Conference. According to the Communist Party of China and the government, the employment of university graduates is important for the well-being of society as a whole. This, in turn, is the key to national economic development, social harmony, and stability.

The university has established domestic and international entrepreneurial practice bases and continues to strive to create pioneering mass entrepreneurship and innovation environment by bringing in world-renowned venture capital firms and providing support for entrepreneurship projects based in entrepreneurial incubator centers. The Student Entrepreneurship Program is directly connected to the world-renowned Plug and Play incubation company and the Silicon Valley giant, the Amidi Group. Currently, nearly 100 student entrepreneurship projects are available at the university's Student Pioneer Park. The university was approved as a “Henan Province Entrepreneurship Education Model Institute” and the Student Pioneer Park was recognized as a “Henan Province University Student Entrepreneurship Demonstration Zone”. The university has also established long-term employment partnerships with more than 1,000 companies and has established employment bases in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Hebei, Hainan, Zhengzhou, and other cities in China. Each year, many students are sent abroad for paid internships.

According to statistics from the Department of Employment at the Henan Provincial Department of Education, the employment rate of Sias graduates has been at the top among universities in Henan since 2005. Sias graduates have been praised by their employers for their spoken English, innovative perspectives, professional knowledge, and communication skills. The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, and The Washington Post have featured reports on Sias graduates.

The Founder, and Chairman of the Board of Sias, Dr. Shawn Chen, has said that students need to make adequate preparations to face the increasingly fierce competition in the professional world. Students are encouraged to understand the current job market, have realistic goals concerning employment, work hard, and contribute to their families, society, and the nation.

With this in mind, Sias University has set up a comprehensive graduate employment portal to aid and assist graduates, current students, and potential employers, with job hunting, career planning and development, employment counseling, and recruitment.
