School of Nursing

Sias University's School of Nursing is located 'Hammond Hall' (building 15). The school combines centuries of Chinese medical knowledge with the open spirit of international education. The School of Nursing was founded in 2008, as the Nursing College of Sias International University. In 2018, when Sias University was given the approval to be an independent private undergraduate university, the Nursing College was renamed the School of Nursing. At present, the school is a member of the Executive Director Council of the Nursing Education Branch of China Higher Medical Education. It is also a member of the Huaxia Higher Education Association.

 

The school now has a Department of Basic Medicine, a Basic Nursing Teaching & Research Section, a Clinical Teaching & Research Section, a Humanities Teaching & Research Section, and a Nursing Experimental Training Center. The Training Center has a Human Anatomy & Morphological Laboratory, Physiology & Functional Laboratory, Basic Nursing Training Room, Health Assessment Training Room, Medical Training Room, Surgical Training Room, Critical Training Room, Rehabilitation Training Room, and Physical Training Room. There are 13 hospitals that serve as teaching bases for students' practice including the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University, the Henan Provincial People's Hospital, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University, two Community Health Service Centers in the Zhengzhou Psychiatric Hospital, and in Xinzheng City.

 

The school adheres to the university's educational philosophy of 'East-meets-West' and aims to produce international nursing talent with English proficiency and a broad vision. It has built a nursing program with international characteristics to serve the region and the nation. The long-term objective is to nurture nursing professionals with morality, intelligence, fitness, practical ability, an innovative spirit, and international ability.

 

The School of Nursing has set up international cooperation and exchanges to improve the internationalization of its education. It has cooperative relationships with Daegu Health College (South Korea), Hawai'i Pacific University (U.S.A.), the University of Portsmouth (U.K.), Daegu Haany University (South Korea), and Angeles University Foundation (the Philippines). The school has a "3+1" exchange program with Daegu Health College in South Korea. The school seeks to expand its international channels to introduce high-quality educational resources, promote communication between teachers and students, and carry out cooperative research to create new courses and specialties to add to the existing programs.
