In the first 3 years, the infrastructure of the residential college was improved, the educational environment beautified, and the students' learning improved. 2020 was the start of the second 3-year plan. Zhiyuan Residential College will continue to implement the fundamental task of building morality among students with the theme of "diligent learning, right thinking, sincerity, and a far-reaching influence", relying on academic tutors, educational tutors, life tutors, and peer tutors. Students are encouraged to grow through student association activities.

Zhiyuan Residential College focuses on adhering to "One College, One Product" with the theme of "Three Learning" - Learning has a dream, learning has a way, learning has a responsibility. Learning with dreams is the foundation and premise, focusing on strengthening students' ideals and beliefs, with goals and pursuits. It is the core and key to nurturing students' learning habits and mastery over efficient learning methods. Learning responsibility is the guarantee, focusing on establishing students' sense of social responsibility. In addition, the residential college combines the themes of Party building with the residential college system, and integrates the learning into a multifaceted structure of learning, to improve and enrich the political and ideological education and learning content.
