Job Opportunities

Sias primarily offers teaching jobs. Every year Sias hires teachers to teach Chinese students in English. Prospective teachers must have at least a bachelor’s degree and come from an English-speaking country, or have a degree from an English-speaking country. There are some exceptions to this rule - having expertise in a field that is desired by China could exempt someone from the native English-speaking criteria.

Typically, Sias hires teachers for the following jobs:

Oral English Teacher

The applicant must have a bachelor’s degree. Teachers teach 18 hours per week, which does not include lesson planning, grading, office hours, and weekly team meetings.

Business Classes Teacher

The applicant must have an MBA or related master’s degree. Teachers teach 12 class hours per week, or no more than 2 different courses.

English Language Academic Classes Teacher

These classes (not Oral English) are taught in English to English majors. These include English Composition, Speech, Cross-Cultural Communication, etc. A standard teaching load is 12 class hours per week, or no more than 2 different courses.

Kindergarten Teacher

The applicant must have a bachelor’s degree. Teachers teach 15 hours per week, teaching 3 to 6-year-old children simple English lessons.

Primary School Teacher

The applicant must have a bachelor’s degree. Teachers teach 12 hours per week, teaching 1st to 6th-grade Chinese students.
