Sias University held a special meeting for the prevention and control of Covid-19 on May 3 at the administration building. The meeting was held as a follow-up to the Henan Department of Education's video conference on Covid-19 prevention and control in Henan's education system. Sias Party Secretary, Ma Jiansheng, Acting President, Zhao Yuxin, Deputy Party Secretary and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, Li Huafeng, and Vice President, Zheng Min, who are all leaders of the Sias' Covid-19 prevention and control leading group, attended the meeting. The leaders of special working groups for Covid-19 prevention and control were also present.

At the meeting, it was pointed out that there had been frequent outbreaks of Covid-19, and the risk to the Sias campus had increased. The leaders said that everyone at the university should prioritize the directives and protocols emphasized at the Henan Department of Education's video conference on Covid-19 prevention and control.

The leaders stressed that all special working groups and teams should establish a strong awareness of the risks associated with the prevention and control of Covid-19, and delegate responsibilities efficiently. Teachers and students were instructed to not gather in large groups and not leave the city, except for an emergency. The mental health of teachers and students is also to be addressed through education and psychological counseling. The leaders also said that the disinfection and sterilization of the campus were to be increased and any transmission chains were to be blocked and dealt with immediately.
