Wednesday, September 30 – Sias University held a series of activities as part of the 2020 International (Overseas) Project Exhibition in the Library on the 29th of September. The activities included a project exhibition, talent shows by both teachers and students, on-site consultations, and a publicity meeting.

The Director of the Office of International Affairs, Yue Junliang, introduced the program and spoke about the latest information on student exchange programs, visiting teacher programs, foreign teachers and international cooperation organizations to help teachers and students understand more about the overseas learning programs and choose suitable programs.

Sias University has had an emphasis on international cooperation, innovated several working ideas and methods, introduced high-quality international education resources through online (cloud) courses, and has even set up online courses on culture and language in Indonesia, Japan, and the United Kingdom. With students facing restrictions with regard to leaving the campus due to the measures for the prevention and control of the Coronavirus pandemic, Sias has invited experts and scholars from China and abroad to present lectures and put on performances, so that the students can enjoy the benefits of an international education.

In the past few years, the number and percentage of teachers and students traveling overseas have been steadily increasing. International academic exchange programs are an important part of Sias' nurturing of students' international vision, innovative ability, diversified thinking, and their improvement with regard to cross-cultural communication and self-management.

During the exhibition, teachers and students had several opportunities for interactions and exchanges. Li Chunli, a teacher at the School of Journalism & Communication, shared from her experience of studying abroad and the positive impact that interactions with students in the United States had on her career and personal development.

Through the 2020/21 academic year, Sias University and the Office of International Affairs (OIA) will hold more international exchange activities and has already planned various meetings for the sharing of experiences with regard to student services and support for students and teachers hoping to take part in international exchange programs.
