Thursday, December 31 - Sias University invited Prof. Zhang Xuexin of Fudan University to hold a special training conference titled, "Getting out of the Quagmire of Traditional Teaching", on the 31st of December. The conference was held to improve teachers' teaching ability and promote the reform of student-centered education and teaching. Sias Vice President, Zhao Yuxin, the Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs & Scientific Research Department, Chen Jing, and the Deputy Director of the Teacher Development Center, Shan Guoli, attended the conference along with over 150 teachers.

Zhao Yuxin pointed out the importance of classroom innovation and new teaching methods at Sias for the improvement of the quality of talent training. He said that all teachers should devote themselves to the reform of teaching and education. He also said that all academic schools should implement reforms to teaching and promised that Sias would work towards serving teachers, creating better conditions, and a better atmosphere for learning.

There was a ceremony during which Prof. Zhang Xuexin was appointed as a Visiting Professor of Sias University, and the guiding expert of "National College Economics Management Courses in Split Classrooms". Xie Qi, a teacher, was appointed as the Host of "National College Economics Management Courses in Split Classrooms" at Sias.

Zhao Yuxin and Zhang Xuexin jointly unveiled the first batch of the Split Classroom at the Teacher Development Center, and the Studio of Economic and Management Courses.

Zhang Xuexin taught the concept and operation of Split Classrooms. He said that it provided a simple and easy-to-use operation. The concept divided classroom teaching and discussions into four processes: teaching, learning alone, discussion, and dialogue. It is an original teaching model with Chinese characteristics, encouraging intensive teaching and giving students the space to participate. He said that the 4 elements of teaching were at the core of scientific teaching that would nurture students' critical thinking ability and would encourage teaching reform.

The training set up a communication platform for teachers to focus on education and teaching reform. It focused on the teachers' teaching ideas, classroom teaching methods, promoted reform, and improved the independence of students through innovative learning.
