Founder, and Chairman of the Board

Dr. Shawn Chen

An advocate of lifelong learning, Dr. Shawn Chen's educational career began over 40 years ago and has been continuing ever since. It includes a Bachelor's Degree from Chongqing University in China, a Master's Degree in Education from Linfield College in the USA, an MBA from Willamette University, an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and a Special Certificate Program from Harvard University (2005) designed specifically for university presidents. In 1997, he received an Honorary Doctorate in Education from the University for Humanistic Studies, in California. He also received Honorary Doctorates from the University of the Cordilleras, in the Philippines (2011), Caucasus University, in Georgia (2014), and Danubius University in Romania (2015). He is the President-Elect, Treasurer, and a member of the Board of Directors of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP), the Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Association of Universities of Asia & the Pacific (AUAP), and is the Founder, and Chairman of the Board of Sias University.


Dr. Shawn Chen is the Chairman of the Sias Group, Inc., and in 1998, he founded Sias University. Dr. Shawn Chen has also cooperated with the Zhengzhou Municipal Government to establish the 'Zhengzhou International School', the only international school in the province of Henan.


For his achievements in the development of education, Dr. Shawn Chen has won several awards from both Chinese and American institutions and government departments. Recent awards include those from the Provincial Government of Henan, the Zhengzhou Municipal Government, the Kansas State Government and Governor, the Los Angeles City Government and Mayor, the Missouri Legislature, the Arizona State Government, and several more from universities and non-governmental organizations. Dr. Chen has focused on the relationship between education, the economy, and culture. As a 'Special Envoy of Talent' of the city of Zhengzhou, he has often led provincial and national government delegations from China to the United States on cultural and trade missions. He has also guided American enterprises to trade with and invest in China, including those from the California Cities Alliance.


In 2011, Dr. Chen co-founded PnP (China), a subsidiary of the famous Plug and Play (PnP) venture capital incubation company in Silicon Valley, USA. He also served as its Executive Director. He has contributed to the development of entrepreneurship and innovation in China, introduced innovation, incubation, and well-known science & technology enterprises from Silicon Valley to China, and has established PnP incubation centers in Beijing, Shanghai, Zhengzhou, Xi'an, Chongqing, Shenzhen, Suzhou, and Hangzhou.

Secretary of the Party Committee

Ma Jiansheng

Born in Nanyang, in the province of Henan, Ma Jiansheng graduated from Henan Normal University in July 1986. He is now the Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of Sias University.


He has served as the Vice Minister of the Propaganda Department of Huanghe University, and the Secretary of the Youth League of the Construction Engineering Department; Deputy Party Secretary and Party Secretary of the Department of Chemistry of Zhengzhou University; Deputy Party Secretary and Party Secretary of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Zhengzhou University; and the Director of the Communist Party Office at Zhengzhou University. He has been awarded titles such as Associate Professor, Excellent Ideological & Political Worker of Ordinary Colleges and Universities in Henan, Advanced Social Practice Worker of College Students in Henan; Excellent Party Worker of Zhengzhou University; and Advanced Individual of "Three Educations" of Zhengzhou University.

Acting President

Zhao Yuxin

Zhao Yuxin was born in Yangcheng, Shanxi, and is a professor of Economics, and Doctoral Supervisor. He is a leading expert in the field of Industrial Economics. He is now the Director of the China Society of Agricultural Technology & Economics, the Director of the China Higher Education Research Association, the Director of the China Society of Grain Economy, the Vice President of the Henan Society of Grain Economy, and the Director of the Henan Entrepreneur Association.


The primary focus of his research is based on industrial economy, rural economy, and grain economy theory and policy. He has successively presided over or overseen 7 National Social Science Fund projects, National Science & Technology research projects in the 10th 5-year plan, and National Education Science Planning projects. He has presided over and completed 25 provincial and ministerial level scientific research projects. He has 11 monographs and college textbooks. Four of his works have won the Second Prize for Excellent Social Science Achievements in Henan, and three have won the Henan Special Prize and First Prize for Teaching Achievements.


He has published 78 academic papers in national journals, and his papers have been reprinted by the ISTP, the Agricultural Economy Guide of the Information Center of Renmin University, and Yearbook China. In recent years, the students he has guided have won the Special Prize, First Prize, Second Prize, and Third Prize in the National University Students' Amateur Scientific & Technological Works "Challenge Cup". In 2010, he was rated as one of the best Guiding Teachers in China.

Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee

Li Huafeng

Li Huafeng serves as the Deputy Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of Sias University, and the Secretary of the First Discipline Inspection Commission.


Li Huafeng has worked in the Personnel Department, Chinese Department, Organization Department of the Communist Party Committee, Department of Mathematics, School of Physical Engineering, and other sections of Zhengzhou University. From September 1987 to July 1988 he participated in poverty alleviation in Shangcheng County, Henan, and from September 2003 to December 2003, he attended training classes for young and middle-aged cadres in colleges and universities in Henan. He has won the Advanced Individual of "Three Educations" Award of Zhengzhou University, the Excellent Party Member Award, Excellent Party Worker Award, Advanced Individual of Social Practice for Henan, Henan University Ideological & Political Work Award, and the Henan University Advanced Individual Ideological & Political Work Award. He has twice presided over key projects of the Special Scientific Research Fund for training and research for College Counsellors (Zhengzhou University) from the Ministry of Education. He has published several papers, edited many books, and won the First Prize for Henan Provincial Teaching Achievement and Excellent Research Achievement for Ideological & Political Work.

Vice President

Wu Hua

Wu Hua is the Vice President of Sias and the Chairman of the Trade Union. He is a member of the China Law Society. He is also an Associate Professor and has a Master's degree in Science.


He graduated from Sias' School of Foreign Languages with a B.A. During his time as a student, he served as the Chairman of the 4th and 5th Student Union, and as President. From August 2004 to February 2005 he was sent to Canada by the Communist Youth League of the Zhengzhou Municipal Committee to participate in youth exchange activities. Following his graduation, he remained at Sias as the Secretary to the Chairman.


He received a full scholarship to study for a Master's Degree in Public Relations & Communication at Fort Hays State University in Kansas, U.S.A., in 2007. During his time there, he worked as a Graduate Assistant to the President.


In 2009, he returned to Sias and served as the General Manager and Party Secretary of the Logistics Department, the Director of the Administration Office, and the Special Assistant to the Chairman. In 2018, he began his role as the Vice President, overseeing Human Resources, Financial Assets, Supervision & Audit, and Contract Management and Procurement.


In 2019, he attended the first training course for university presidents by the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) in Aalborg, Denmark, and obtained a certificate of completion. Later that year, he was elected as the Chairman of the Trade Union at Sias.


He has won several provincial honors and awards for his work and was awarded the Excellent Education Management of Talent in Henan Award in 2019. He once served as a deputy to the 4th National People's Congress of Xinzheng City and was a member of the 11th Youth Federation of Henan.

Vice President

Zheng Min

Zheng Min is the Vice President of Sias University. She oversees the Administration Office, Development Planning Office, Enrollment Office, Employment & Entrepreneurship Office, and Logistics Department. Her experience includes working for the Communist Party's news front for 20 years, particularly in the fields of radio and television. A proponent of innovation, many of her projects and broadcasts were picked up by CCTV News, and her special reports and interviews have won prizes at the provincial and ministerial levels. She participated in the editing and directing of several provincial and ministerial projects, and has served as a judge and a host at provincial and ministerial events.


Zheng Min is the Deputy Director of the Language Education Committee at the Henan Speech and Eloquence Association and is an internationally registered Senior Image Etiquette Trainer. For 10 consecutive years, she won the "Best Training Lecturer" and "Most Popular Lecturer" awards.


In the past 10 years, she has devoted her time toward the administration of higher education with a focus on outreach, publicity, trade union work, and as a press spokesperson. For her remarkable achievements, she won the title of "Advanced Worker of Private Education in Henan Province".


Message: Learn as a teacher, respect morality, and practice. Be diligent, thoughtful, realistic, and competitive.
