Zhu Zhiting, A Tenured Professor of East China Normal University, Came to Our School To Give A Special Lecture

On June 12, tenured professor and doctoral supervisor of East China Normal University, Zhu Zhiting, was invited to give a special lecture in our school. The leading group members of our school, the educational affairs office, the teaching quality monitoring and evaluation center, the human resources department, teacher development center, the information construction and management office, as well as the dean and other teacher representatives from the professional college, were in the audience for the lecture. The lecture was presided over by Zhao Yuxin, vice president of SIAS.

Professor Zhu Zhiting’s lecture was entitled, “Development Opportunities and Challenges of Digital Transformation in Higher Education.” Together with some background of the rapid development of AIGC, the paper expounds the new direction of education’s digital transformation from the perspective of high-awareness learning, skill-based education, the upgrading of wisdom education and the challenges of digital moral education and discusses new insights into the digital transformation of education. He pointed out that the digital education strategy is an important part of the nation’s digital strategy, teachers are the first resource for high-quality educational development, teachers and instructors should take the initiative in the national wisdom education and education’s digital transformation with a broadness of mind. He also stressed that a mobile academic group and collaborative innovation consortium should be established that promotes the profession upgrading of education technology, promotes the professional upgrading of education technology, help the construction of first-class disciplines, and empower the professional development of teachers, and talent training model innovation. Also of great importance is the creation and implementation of new forms of smart technology and two education empowerment research and application demonstration.

The report was rich in content, tracing the international frontiers of technological development base upon domestic concerns in both theory and in practice. It provided an academic feast for all teachers to deeply understand the practical significance, problems, and paths of education’s digital transformation. It also provided practical guidance and help for the direction of future development and how these were directly related to the future of our school.
