Center for Teaching Quality Supervision and Assessment is a dedicated functional department within Sias University, tasked with the responsibility of conducting regular monitoring and comprehensive evaluation of teaching quality. It comprises two offices: the Teaching Quality Monitoring Office and the Evaluation Office.

Teaching Quality Monitoring Office

Sias Teaching Quality Monitoring Office operates according to Sias’s teaching quality monitoring system and regulations, adhering to Sias’s development planning requirements. In collaboration with the Academic Affairs Department (Curriculum Center), Sias Teaching Quality Monitoring Office conducts inspections, supervision, assessments, and guidance on the quality of teaching, teaching methods, and teaching management. The Office is responsible for establishing and improving the Sias’s teaching quality monitoring and evaluation mechanism, effectively promoting the optimization of the teaching process and enhancing teaching quality. Furthermore, it provides information support and recommendations to leaders, enabling them to make scientific and informed decisions. Sias Teaching Quality Monitoring Office holds primary responsibility for conducting comprehensive evaluations of teachers’ classroom teaching quality, encompassing student evaluations, supervisor evaluations, peer evaluations, and management evaluations. Additionally, it oversees teachers’ self-assessments, sampling and attending lectures for assessment purposes, new teacher teaching skill assessments and acceptance processes, the formation and management of student informant teams, and the handling of complaints related to teaching issues from both teachers and students. Sias Teaching Quality Monitoring Office is also tasked with quality monitoring of classroom instruction, practical teaching, and graduation project (thesis). It is dedicated to enhancing the sense of responsibility and management capabilities of supervisors, as well as strengthening the construction and management of both full-time and part-time supervisory teams. Furthermore, the Office is responsible for the timely monitoring and management of the collection, analysis, processing, and feedback of various teaching information submitted by Management Department and different schools of Sias.

Evaluation Office

Sias Evaluation Office is responsible for formulating and organizing the implementation of various evaluation programs according to the evaluation policy and evaluation index system formulated by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and the Education Department of Henan Province. Sias Evaluation Office strives to establish a scientific, rational, and sustainable teaching quality management, evaluation, and guarantee system that promotes the continuous improvement of teaching and learning outcomes. Furthermore, Sias Evaluation Office oversees the operations of the national data platforms for higher education quality testing, encompassing data collection, statistics, and analysis. It prepares and publishes Sias’s annual undergraduate teaching quality report, providing valuable insights into its academic performance. The Office also manages internal self-assessment processes, including professional and curriculum evaluations, ensuring continuous self-improvement. In collaboration with relevant departments and different schools of Sias, Sias Evaluation Office facilitates external assessments and evaluations conducted by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and the Education Department of Henan Province, aiming to enhance the overall teaching quality. Additionally, it undertakes tasks assigned by higher-level functional departments and fulfills any other responsibilities designated by Sias.
