Sias School of Marxism serves as both the teaching center for ideological and political theory courses and a research hub for Marxist theory. Originating from the Department of Ideological and Political Theory Teaching within the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, it gained independent status as the School of Marxism in May, 2018, becoming one of the first private colleges in Henan Province to do so. The school is structured into six specialized teaching and research sections: Fundamental Principles of Marxism, Mao Zedong Thought and the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, An Outline of Modern Chinese History, Ideology and Morality and the Rule of Law, and Current Situation and Policy. It also features a comprehensive organizational framework, including the Party General Branch, six Party branches within the teaching sections, the school office, and the archives and reference room.
The School of Marxism boasts a robust, high-caliber team of full-time and part-time instructors for ideological and political theory courses. It currently employs 109 such teachers, comprising 94 full-time faculty and 15 external part-time instructors (including 4 retired professors from other institutions), adhering to the stipulated teacher-student ratio of at least 1:350. The faculty includes 5 professors, 17 associate professors, 17 lecturers, and 4 doctoral degree holders (or candidates). Among them, there are recipients of the State Council's Special Government Allowance, an Academic and Technical Leader of Henan Province, Outstanding Ideological and Political Theory Course Teachers in Henan, a Civilized Teacher of Henan, multiple Teaching Model Individuals in Henan and Ideological and Political Theory Course Teaching Model Individuals in Henan's universities (awarded in different years), and Ideological and Political Theory Course Teaching Model Individuals and Teaching Experts in Zhengzhou's local universities. Their expertise span philosophy, political science, history, law, and Marxist theory, aligning well with the course content. The teaching staff collectively exhibit exemplary political integrity, strong professional skills, extensive knowledge, rigorous scholarship, extensive teaching experience, and notable research accomplishments, forming a proactive, dedicated, and innovative teaching and research team.
