The Future Information Technology Institute (FITI) was co-founded by the China Information Management Leaders Alliance, which consists of leading executives of China’s large and medium-sized enterprises, and Sias University, with its existing educational philosophy. It is a professional training institute for internationally-focused information technology and management.
The original intent of setting up FITI was to address the final stretch between graduation and employment needs for students. FITI provides in-depth cooperation with senior professionals not only to provide up-to-date educational content to bridge the gap between academia and the needs of enterprises, but to improve teaching methods, academic thinking, and to provide new ideas. It aims to train students to have a global vision, strategic thinking, and skills that would enhance their innovation management.
Sias has always emphasized the importance of integration between China and the West, with cooperation and progressive innovation a hallmark of its history. The university, therefore, provides the best classrooms, exclusive dormitories, and a special zone in the library, and employs top industry experts and instructors to teach students to focus on the needs of society. FITI aims to provide more courses, highly refined textbooks, better teachers, and more practical internships to help students become high-quality, valuable IT management personnel.
The instructors adopt the “NGLC” (Next Generation Learning Challenges) as the teaching method. NGLC includes personalized learning, competency-based learning, Blended learning, and student-centered learning. It is widely used in internationally renowned universities and institutions. The methods seek to maximize the consciousness and effectiveness of students’ learning to produce high-quality professionals with an international perspective and modern strategic thinking.
FITI has selected outstanding students from the various colleges at Sias. In addition to the usual course material, FITI provides basic and specialized material as a guide for professional use. Students get to listen to and interact with leading Chinese and international executives to build on the education they receive. The purpose is to impart and share knowledge through the experience of professionals to develop readily employable graduates.
FITI was founded on April 18, 2017, with the official Opening Ceremony held on September 18.
The China Information Management Leaders Alliance (CILA) that founded FITI is a professional association of entrepreneurs and executives (CEOs, CIOs, and CTOs) from many of China's large and medium-sized enterprises. FITI focuses on training individuals to engage in modern strategic thinking and the development of information technology trends and skills. Through the educational philosophy of Sias, it is expected to help students crack the job market and solve problems faced by graduates concerning career selection, employment, and training. It hopes to help meet the needs of the Chinese information technology management industry by filling the talent gap in China's large and medium-sized enterprises.
