School of Telecommunications and Intelligent Manufacturing

Sias School of Telecommunications and Intelligent Manufacturing, formerly known as the School of Electronic and Information Engineering at Sias University, was established in July, 2007, and officially renamed in January, 2023. The school currently offers five undergraduate programs: Electronic Information Engineering, Communications Engineering, Automation, Measurement & Control Technology and Instruments, and Artificial Intelligence, forming a comprehensive disciplinary system covering cutting-edge fields such as electronic information, automation, and intelligent manufacturing. Additionally, the school has established two industry-education integration projects in collaboration with iFLYTEK Co., Ltd., and Dingli Education Technology Co., Ltd., providing students with extensive practical training opportunities. Currently, the school has nearly 2,900 enrolled students and a strong faculty team, including 9 professors, 16 associate professors, and 5 Ph.D. holders.

The school is equipped with advanced teaching facilities, including 35 laboratories, 1 engineering training center, and the capacity to conduct nearly 300 experimental projects. It houses 4,126 pieces (sets) of equipment with a total value of 38.896 million RMB, and the laboratory area spans 8,086 square meters. These facilities not only meet the needs of daily teaching and experimental training but also provide robust support for faculty research and student innovation.

In recent years, the school has achieved significant results in teaching and research. In 2024, it was approved as the “Henan Provincial Engineering Research Center for Agricultural Information Digitalization and Intelligence,” and in 2023, it secured the “Key Industry-Education Integration Research Project for Henan Undergraduate Universities.” Currently, the school has 20 provincial-level quality engineering projects and 18 university-level key construction projects. Over the past three years, faculty members have published 93 academic papers, including 31 Chinese core journal articles and 19 SCI/EI-indexed papers. They have secured 34 provincial/departmental research projects, authored or co-authored 20 textbooks and academic works, and obtained 3 national invention patents, 10 utility model patents, and 46 software copyrights. Students have won 559 awards in national and provincial competitions such as the “Challenge Cup," "Internet+," mathematical modeling, electronic design, and robotics, with over 1,400 award recipients. The postgraduate admission rate and employment quality have steadily improved.

The school adheres to a “student-centered” approach, focusing on enhancing students' foundational knowledge and professional skills while emphasizing hands-on training. It has developed an innovative “Two Loops, Three Stages, Four Drives” talent cultivation model, fostering students' enterprising spirit, innovative thinking, creativity, and practical abilities. Moving forward, the school will continue to deepen industry-education integration, strengthen disciplinary development, and cultivate more high-quality, application-oriented professionals for society.
