The school focuses on improving students' theory and professional skills, highlighting the links between teaching and practice, and nurturing students' creative spirit, innovative ability, and practical ability.

The school has 10 provincial-level engineering projects: "Testing Technology & Automation Device" was designated a key discipline in Henan; "Automation & Electronic Information Engineering" was designated a Brand Specialty of Private Colleges & Universities in Henan; "Computer Science & Technology" was designated a Subject Funding Project of Private Colleges & Universities in Henan; "Digital Electronics Technology" is a first-class course in Henan; "Computer Networks", an online course, is an 'excellent resource' in Henan. Other provincial-level courses include "Electronics Information Engineering" and "Communication Engineering". The Electronics & Automation Experimental Teaching Center, and its cooperative practice base with iFLYTEK, is a provincial-level university student off-campus practice base. There are also currently 14 university-level teaching projects.

In the past 5 years, 401 academic papers have been published, including 166 Chinese 'core' papers, and 20 SCI and EI retrieval papers.
