The School of Continuing Education is an educational management entity that organizes and implements adult higher education, network education, training, and other forms of continuing education. The school implements the educational policies of the Communist Party of China, national medium and long-term educational reform and development plans (2010-2020), and lifelong education as the leading ideal for its development.
With the support of the university, the education and training at the school are carried out in light of the actual development of the social economy and science and technology. To serve society, the school seeks to instill survival with quality, development with character, and an innovative spirit tied to practical ability in its students. Relying on the university's educational resources and faculty, it has built a professional management team with diverse teaching methods to provide the perfect academic education and non-academic education services across the university.
The school has 2 offices, 2 centers, and 1 international undergraduate project, which are, respectively, the School of Continuing Education Office, and the Education Resource Management Office; the Training Center, and the Distance Education Learning Center; and the "2+2" International Undergraduate Project. The Training Center includes enterprise training, university enterprise cooperation training, and vocational qualification training. Each department is responsible for different work, content, and cooperation.
School of Continuing Education Office
The Office of the School of Continuing Education is responsible for all the administrative affairs of the school, including notices, distribution, coordination within the school, financial management, file management, asset management, various text drafting, as well as logistical support for the implementation of other projects.
Office of Education Resources Management
The Office of Education Resources Management serves the school by implementing income-generating activities and the approved external use of educational resources. Relying on the high-quality educational resources and teaching facilities of the university, it expands all kinds of income-generating projects, uses university resources to serve local enterprises and institutions, and introduces all kinds of enterprise training and annual meetings and fora. The goal is to create social and economic benefits for the development of the school.
Training Center
The Training Center at the School of Continuing Education is a department that specializes in enterprise and institutional training, enterprise cooperation, and vocational qualification examination training.
Training for Enterprises and Institutions
The training for enterprises and institutions is guaranteed by the school's educational resources and management experience, and training directions with service relying on college and university teachers across the province of Henan. The school employs well-known experts to teach and train the students while developing personalized training programs. With the support of leaders at various levels in the university, the School of Continuing Education aims at building training centers that serve as a base for government officials, enterprise managers, and professional and technical personnel to improve their knowledge, skills, and professionalism, to provide intellectual support for the growth and development of the Central Plains.
As of October 2019, the training center has organized over 300 training courses for enterprises, involving over 10,000 trainees. In March 2018, the Henan Department of Culture organized rotation training classes for learning about the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and trained more than 150 department-level cadres. More than 1,200 new employees were trained in the induction training of China Construction's 7th Engineering Bureau in July 2018.
Vocational Qualification Training
Vocational Qualification Training emphasizes the training of professionals, applied and technical talent, service to students, ability-oriented quality learning, and a diversified training platform for teachers and students to balance with their full-time education.
The plan for the first year was a series of public welfare courses organized and implemented by the School of Continuing Education. The purpose is to enhance students' comprehensive ability, encourage their interest in learning, and improve the passing rate of the Sias certificate examination.
Vocational Training of University-Industry Cooperation
Relying on the Sias' facilities and conditions, and the talent training methods of various enterprises, the School of Continuing Education has signed cooperation agreements with many enterprises to cooperatively build a diversified education platform. The Training Center has special personnel responsible for the development of university-enterprise cooperation projects, contract formulation, external relations, internal coordination, and supervision and management of projects. At present, the school has the Vocational Education project of "University-Industry Cooperation" and the Postgraduate Training Project.
Distance Education Learning Center
Entrusted by Zhengzhou University, Sias' Distance Education Learning Center cooperates with its enrollment promotion, student organization, student management, and teaching guidance according to unified requirements and arrangements. Sias abides by relevant national policies and the provisions of Zhengzhou University and has an independent Distance Education Learning Center office with a full-time management, service, and technical team.
In May 2019, China's Ministry of Education's Study Abroad Service Center and Sias University formally signed an agreement to establish a strategic partnership. To meet the needs of an increasing number of students studying abroad and to build a steady stream that obtains degrees from well-known universities, Sias relies on its unique advantages in international education exchanges and education, integrates educational resources in the university with international fields, and establishes long-term cooperative relations with several foreign universities in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. The establishment of the "2+2 International Undergraduate Program" provides guarantees for students to study abroad safely, conveniently, and successfully.
The "2+2 International Undergraduate Program" is a foreign certificate program (students receive a foreign degree after graduation). The course is divided into 2 stages - the domestic language enhancement + basic compulsory courses, and the foreign professional compulsory courses.
