Sias School of Architecture traces its origins to the School of Architecture of Zhengzhou University Sias International College. Established in April, 2010, it began enrollment in the same year. The inaugural class admitted 93 students across three cohorts in the four-year Architecture program. Starting from 2011, the school transitioned to a five-year Architecture program, followed by the introduction of a five-year Architecture program (Interior Design concentration) in 2014. In 2017, the school launched the Architectural Decoration Engineering Technology (three-year diploma) program, and in 2021, it began enrolling students in the Engineering Management (undergraduate) program. Currently, the school has nearly 600 enrolled students.
The school employs over 30 full-time faculty members, all graduates from prestigious domestic and international architecture institutions. The faculty includes 3 professors, 12 associate professors, 2 senior engineers, 1 senior economist, and 3 members with overseas study experience.
Adhering to Sias's educational philosophy of "East meets West, integrating knowledge with Practice," the school has invited distinguished academics including Academician Liu Renhuai (dual-member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering's Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering Division and Engineering Management Division) and Academician Zhou Fengjun, Chinese Academy of Engineering, to provide guidance. The school has also appointed renowned professionals such as Professor Wang Qi (doctoral supervisor at the University of Nottingham) and Ms. Tu Luoya (Design Director of Archimorphic) as visiting professors.
Leveraging Sias's international educational resources, the school has established cooperative agreements with prominent American institutions including Arizona State University, University of Hawaii, and University of Akron for student exchanges, faculty visits, and collaborative research projects. Additionally, partnerships have been formed with American design firms such as BDS Design Associates and Holee Design Studio. With a focus on cultivating application-oriented talents, the school emphasizes practical training and has established over twenty domestic and international internship bases.
Statistics indicate that the school maintains a graduate employment rate consistently above 90%, with many outstanding alumni pursuing master's degrees at China's "Eight Elite Architecture Schools" or further studies abroad.
The school upholds the educational philosophy of "Rigor, Inquiry, and Excellence," striving to cultivate a culture of strict scholarship, strict teaching, and strict administration, along with practical, realistic, and effective approaches. Moving forward, the school plans to recruit high-level talents and enhance both hardware and software infrastructure. Through these efforts, the school aims to develop into a comprehensive architectural engineering institution with distinct international characteristics, student appeal, and notable social influence.
