Accounting was one of the founding majors at Sias University in 1999. With the development of Accounting and Financial Management, and based on the recommendations made by the Evaluation Group from the Ministry of Education, the Department of Accounting and the Department of Financial Management separated from Sias' School of Business to form the School of Accounting in May 2018. At present, the School of Accounting consists of the Department of Accounting, the Department of Financial Management, the Experimental Teaching Practice Center, and the Financial and Audit Development & Research Center, Big Data Intelligent Finance Research Institute, the Office of the School of Accounting, and other teaching, research, and administrative departments.

Academic Course Creation

- In 2012, Accounting was approved as the 8th batch of Key Disciplines in the province of Henan.

- In 2017, Accounting was approved as a 'Brand Specialty of Private Colleges & Universities' in Henan.

- In 2019, the Accounting Information System was approved as an Excellent Online Open Course (MOOC) in Henan.

- In 2019, Financial Management (English) was approved as a Bilingual Demonstration Course in Henan.

- In 2020, Corporate Finance was approved as a part of the teaching material for the 14th Five-Year Plan of Henan.

Faculty

The School of Accounting has over 4,000 students and 72 full-time teachers, including 4 professors and 22 associate professors. The faculty includes 8 senior accountants and 32 intermediate accountants, 13 Chinese-certified public accountants, and 4 Chinese-certified tax agents. There is also 1 internationally registered internal auditor, 1 registered real estate appraiser, 1 registered land appraiser, 1 real estate agent, and 1 asset appraiser. 67% of the teachers have more than one area of specialization.

Academics

At present, there are 3 teaching levels - Undergraduate, the Associate Degree Program, and the Bridge Program. There are 3 undergraduate majors - Accounting, Accounting (CPA Class), and Financial Management. There are 2 majors in the Associate Degree Program - Accounting and Financial Management; and 2 specializations in the Bridge Program - Accounting, and Auditing.

Unique Educational Philosophy

To nurture applied talent with an international vision, the School of Accounting adheres to the "One Body, Two Wings, Three Wheels" Training Method. "One Body" refers to the integration and nurturing of talent; "Two Wings" refers to professional internationalization and professional rejuvenation; "Three Wheels" refers to internationalization, and the integration of industry and education, along with 1+X mode. Internationalization stresses running ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) experimental classes; the integration of industry and education pushes for the cooperative nurturing of talent by universities and enterprises; the 1+X mode is for students to master multiple skills. At present, almost 10 teachers with international education backgrounds have been brought in. The school has implemented training plans and set up classes by certified public accountants, ACCA classes, online order classes from China Accounting, and Zhejiang Hengxin classes. To adapt to development trends with big data and artificial intelligence, the school joined UiPath (a global software company for robotic process automation) in May 2019 and was part of the first batch of cooperative universities in China. The school gives great importance to the construction of the industry-university integrated research practice base and has established student practice bases.

Employment Prospects

To promote students' employment and improve their employment skills, the School of Accounting has set up a University Students' Employment & Entrepreneurship Office. Graduates have a good reputation and the employment rate is as high as 95%. Several graduates have gone abroad to pursue postgraduate degrees.
