Zhishan Residential College

I. Introduction

Zhishan Residential College is one of the earliest colleges established by Sias University in order to implement the international-oriented holistic education concept, combine liberal education with specialized education, and innovatively practice the dual academy system of “Academic college + Residential college.” The two characters “Zhishan” are derived from The Great Learning in The Book of Rites. It is said that “The way of great learning consists in manifesting one’s bright virtue, consists in loving the people, and consists in resting in the highest excellence.” It implies the unremitting pursuit of the highest moral realm and the sincere praise of good qualities. This concept not only reflects the strict requirements of the college for the moral cultivation of young students but also inspires them to keep striving for excellence.

Zhishan Residential College focuses on innovation as the cultivation base point and is committed to making its students become innovative new talents in the AI era. Zhishan Residential College strives to strengthen Party building guidance and create working paradigms such as “General Party Branch + Apartment,” “Party Branch + Community,” and “Party Member + Dormitory.” Through the establishment of cultivation platforms such as the “Zhishan Zhimei” Lecture Hall and the “Makers’ Dream Stage,” students’ survival skills with both moral integrity and ability, as well as innovation and entrepreneurship, are cultivated. Through characteristic brand activities such as “Zhishan Reading Season,” “IDEA Project Team,” and “Fun Carnival,” the construction of students’ second classroom is enriched, and the comprehensive quality and ability of students are cultivated.
