Part One: Basic Information of Boyi Residential College

Founded in August, 2018, Boyi Residential College is located in the northern part of the university, adjacent to the CUBA Gymnasium. It oversees two major residential buildings, Northern Block 8 and Northern Block 9, housing nearly 3,000 students from 15 professional schools, including the School of Computer and Software Engineering, the School of Business, the School of Physical Education, and the School of Art and Design. In accordance with the requirements for constructing a "One-stop" Student Community Service Center, the college has decentralized resources and improved various aspects of community building. Within the college, there is a "One-stop" Student Service Hall that meets students' daily life and learning needs, providing convenient and efficient solutions from consultation and supports for transaction processing. The college adheres to Sias’s motto of "East meets West, integrating knowledge with practice" and promotes the spirit of "Unwavering Commitment, Tenacious Effort, Agile Innovation, and Selfless Dedication." With the mission of "Adhering to the goal of moral education, respecting students' interests and hobbies, developing strengths in culture, sports, music, and art, and cultivating versatile talents with specialized skills," and guided by the college motto of "Be Erudite, Practical, Virtuous, and Artistic," Boyi Residential College actively guides students to engage in self-management, self-education, self-service, and self-supervision. Based on the core competence and characteristic positioning, Boyi Residential College organizes a variety of second-classroom activities centered around four themes: "Community Culture Festival," "Sunshine Sports Festival," "Art Performance Festival," and "Labor Service Festival." Among them, the "Community Culture Festival" helps students enhance community cohesion and promote cultural exchange and inheritance; the "Sunshine Sports Festival" advocates a healthy lifestyle, improves students' physical health, and enhances students' personal confidence; the "Art Performance Festival" stimulates students' enthusiasm for the pursuit and creation of beauty and improves their artistic and cultural literacy; the "Labor Service Festival" helps students experience the value of service and cultivate a sense of responsibility and dedication.

Community Culture Festival:

A vibrant and progressive community culture within the colleges is instrumental in solidifying students' ideals and beliefs, fostering a sense of national pride and contemporary spirit, enhancing patriotic sentiments and a profound sense of responsibility, and nurturing the foundational values and soul of future socialist builders and successors. To accomplish this, Boyi Residential College prioritizes Party building and ideological and political education as key strategies, utilizing the community as the fundamental unit. Sunshine Sports Festival:

The college actively advocates the healthy living concept of "Exercising for one hour every day, working healthily for fifty years, and living happily for a lifetime," and with the help of the convenient sports facilities near the college, a series of activities of the "Sunshine Sports Festival" are carried out. Activities such as Community Basketball, Badminton, and Table Tennis Competitions, Fun Sports Meets, Campus Runs, and Quality Expansion are held to guide students to "step away from the internet, leave their dormitories, and head to the playground." In a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere with moderate competition, students can relieve physical and mental stress, improve physical health, and enhance personal confidence.

The "Art Performance Festival" is primarily conducted through various forms including art performances, competitions, and lectures, encompassing diverse disciplines such as dance, instrumental music, singing, and recitation. Activities like Vocal Music Works Competitions, Red Speech Competitions, and Music Festivals are organized, providing participating students with the opportunity to broaden their artistic horizons and enhance their artistic literacy. These events also serve as a platform for students to hone their skills and accumulate stage experience. Ultimately, the goal is to "step out of the classroom, walk off the stage, and engage with the people," thereby bringing the beauty of art to the broader public.

Labor Service Festival:

Boyi Residential College actively encourages and facilitates student participation in social practice and public welfare activities, fostering behaviors that embody a love for labor, respect for hard work, and a dedication to public service. Through activities such as dormitory hygiene evaluations, public environment clean-ups, and winter and summer vacation social practice programs, the college advocates for labor service that extends beyond the campus, reaching into society, communities, and the lives of everyday people. The college has constructed the "Boyi Garden" Cultural Square, which has become a pivotal venue for student organizations to organize vibrant cultural and sports activities. The lush green cultural corridor offers an ideal setting for students to engage in morning reading and sketching, fostering a rich environment for the professional development of Boyi students. Within the college's "One-stop" Teacher-student Service Hall, teachers provide tailored employment and academic guidance to students, addressing their concerns and queries effectively. In proximity to the college, numerous indoor sports facilities such as badminton courts, table tennis halls, and basketball courts are available, ensuring that sports enthusiasts can enjoy their favorite activities without the constraints of weather. The college's multi-functional activity center, which also serves as the home for Party members, faculty, and League members, is equipped with state-of-the-art multimedia devices. The wooden floor, complemented by full-length glass mirrors, makes it an excellent venue for gatherings, learning sessions, and dance training. As students ascend the staircase at the main entrance of the dormitory building within the college community, they are greeted by walls adorned with collections of Party history learning stories on one side and exhibitions showcasing the honors of college students on the other. These displays inspire students to deepen their understanding of Party history, strengthen their beliefs, and draw inspiration from the achievements of their peers. On each floor of the dormitory building, a designated self-study area for postgraduate entrance examinations has been arranged, complete with study desks, chairs, and lighting, providing an ideal environment for aspiring postgraduates to focus on their studies. Furthermore, each floor of the corridor is adorned with light box billboards, each featuring a unique publicity theme. These billboards promote the values of ideals and beliefs, as well as showcase the characteristics of sports, arts, music, and beauty, creating an immersive educational environment that nurtures the holistic development of students.
